Mr. Autrey is the finest type of hero that you can find. He risked his life for a total stranger. If fundamentalists want a good example of a good Christian they need look no further than this man. He deserves all the rewards he is getting and more. I only hope that if a similar situation occurs in front of me that I am as brave as he.

There are a lot of everyday heroes here in NYC!

Just yesterday, two men standing on the street caught/saved a three year old that fell from a fourth floor fire escape.

This is an amazing city, and people really care about each other! It makes me feel even better about living here and being a life-long New Yorker!

He sure is a special kind of man. And New York is a special city. Everyone is too nice there, in my opinion. A quick visit...but I can't wait to return! I sure hope he receives a bunch more money for that heroic effort. What a nice man.

What we need to do is retire the word "hero" permanently. It's been beaten to death in the last few years and needs to be laid to rest.
