Norovirus is present all over the place, all of the time. Its spread mainly by oro-faecal rountes ie touching something that some one has touched with the virus then touching your mouth, eating, drinking etc.

I work on cruise ships where D&V can be epidemic and the best advice of CDC (America) and WHO is to wash your hands all of the time and ensure your kids know the importance of washing their hands.

In reality even though it is unpleasant its only really dangerous in very young kids and elderly people who cannot maintian hydration.

You sound like a person who takes good care of her kids so if they do get it make sure they're drinking plenty of fluids and maybe get some dioralyte from the pharmacy to replace lost body salts.

Good luck

This is horrid. Buy new bed clothes as the vomit will be all over them. The shock on the system is a bit horrendous as well.

I caught mine from visiting a rehabilitation hospital. Highly contagious like the common cold.

If you are only used to ordinary vomiting, you will be in for hell of a bad time with this. It changes the meaning of the word being sick.

Dont know where Colchester is, but it's going aound the Metro in Iowa! If you want to avoid it..Wash your hands...Wash your hands....Wash your hands. That is your #1 defense against germs, bacteria, and viruses. Also, try using the alcohol based hand sanitizers, you can even get them small and prepackaged on a keychain to carry with you, on backpack, etc. Take steps to prevent yor exposure to ANY germs WASH YOUR HANDS:) and you'll be fine.

Boudicca's Revenge?

It is never totally absent, and there are other "bugs" around. So take measures to guard your health, no hand to face movements without washing, avoid crowds if you can. Pray it doesn't get into the schools.
