If Arabs and Jews both live in the middle east, and have very similar religious forefathers and fanatics, why then are the Arab countries so slow to develop technology and develop new ideas while the Israelis thrive and foster development and creativity. I am an atheist so don't try to quote scripture or 'chosen people' stuff. (And don't say because the US supports Israel, and yes I know that Arabs developed algebra and cultivated citrus trees, but what have they done lately. Be honest!)

It's a difference in basic ideology. Both Jews and Muslims have a theology that teaches that the quality of one's life in the next world is directly related to their acts in this world. The difference is that Judaism exhorts all to choose life...thus rewarding those who make the most of their time on earth. Islam, or if we are to believe the press, a small portion of it, teaches that for most, the best way to earn the rewards of paradise is not in how one lives but rather how one dies. Thus, a culture that is focused on the final moments of life has no interest in making the world a better place.

Its hard to defend your Atheistic stand when there is so much evidence all around you. If you saw a painting in an art gallery and the artist wasn't around, you would have faith there was an artist by the evidence of the painting. When you see a building you know there must have been a builder even if you don't see him. This world and all its wonders, our bodies and all its complexities... these things just couldn't have happened.. My great grand pappy wasn't some slime on a rock 500 billion years ago. Modern science has never been able to add information to anything! let alone evolve slime to what we are today. Getting back to your question, Our Creator has obviously blessed the Israelies. The evidence is there. How often has a people kept there ethnicity, banished from there land and returned to it 2000 years later? None but Israel

I think part of the answer lies in the Moslem sense of fatalism--that's whatever happens does so because it is God's will. This kind of thinking, if spread across a whole culture, does not support original thinking.

Jews, on the other hand, lived for many centuries in Europe and later, in America, and had to survive by their wits often in the face of terrible oppression. America has always encouraged creative thought, inventiveness, cleverness, and Jewish people generally have done very well in America, and now in Israel.

Honestly Arabs weren't the ones who invented algebra, or alcohol, or any other thing that they take credit for. It was the Iranians/Persians (the only Aryan and non-semetic race in the middle East) who invented all those things and even the famouse knowledge of medicion, which Arabs also take credit for, also was from Iranians. Iranians after being attacked by Arab war lords during the Arab invasions were forced to write their books in Arabic, and if Arabs found any book written in an Iranian language they would have had simply burn it (This barbaric action resaulted in the lost of many of the ancient Iranian knowledge). Fortunatly, Iranians were evantually successfull to kick the Arab invaders out of their country, and they don't have to write their books in Arabic any more or even speak Arabic today. That's probably why you don't see any new developments from the Arab nation today, but the Iranians are still developing their own technologies and write their own knowledge in their own Aryan language. (Iran was one of the first countries who worked on cloning animals, they also develop their own TVs, Vehichles, stereos, computers, ... they have even sent their own sateliet to space, their own robotic technology, and mass produced their own fighter-jets + many other things)

You answered your own question. USA gives billions upon billions of dollars in aid to Israel, while the arab world is receiving sanctions left and right. In addition, our so called "muslim leaders" are in no way of helping there economy by selling their oil or other resources for the good of the country. Instead, they choose to build fancy castles and palaces while his countrymen can't even find scrap of food to eat. Since being a muslim and an arab, there's no need to hide this because it is 100 percent true.

Because the Arabs have become too dependent on oil as a source of income and they dont want to do anything else but bask in luxury.

I think its more important for the Arab Muslims scholars to sort out the muslim people and they do try just some people dont want to know. Teach them the religion and remove misconceptions that its ok to kill innocent people.

..............."It was only in the 1960s (in England), when we (women) could open a bank account without having our husband sign the bank cheque. Islamic Women have always had those rights. If i stick to what the Quran says to me, and what the message is, it is very clear to me, that i have total equality. Just do what it says, and nobody can argue with me on that."..............
