You need to use a shampoo for your specific hair type. For the best results pick one up at a salon they can even help you if you tell them your problem. Oily hair depends on your hair type and the products you use, I have very dry hair and it doesn't get oily until 2 days later. Some products also weigh down your hair and make it look oily or too many products can do that as well. Ask a hair stylist near you to see what you should be using, you may have alot of product build up as well. If that is the case, meaning you have a coat of product covering your hair (everyone has some) use a clarifying shampoo to remove it or wash your hair with dishsoap until you notice a difference. Build up can be caused by a lot of shampoos and products bought in regular stores such as panteen, head and shoulders, herbal esseces ect. almost anything that;s not a salon shampoo. will cause more. Good luck

I hate this! I wash my hair in the morning, and it's oily that night. I've heard it's because while everyone's scalp produces oil, it depends on the type of hair you have whether your hair becomes oily really fast.
I have strait hair with a thin, smooth hair shaft. The oil slips down my strands of hair easily. If you have curly hair, or course hair, the oil won't slip down the strands as easily, and your hair won't appear as oily.
I've noticed that my hair is always really shiny, but in a good way. I think it is because the oil acts as a natural conditioner. I try to remember that when I start complaining about how oily it gets. I guess it's kind of a blessing.

There are two reasons that I know of. One is that your, individually, oil production might be more than others. And another, is that if you have thick or long hair, you might need to wash it more often (I shower nightly and I have to shampoo / condition twice if I want it to last a full 24 hours)

If you have hair that's quick to oil up again, Just use a cleansing shampoo (it should say on the bottle deep clean or something), and sparingly use your conditioner. (volumizing conditioner is pretty light). Concentrate the shampoo on your roots, then concentrate the conditioner more on your tips.
