There are some all natural supplements that are very effective in treating sinus infections.
Vita-C: anti-inflammatory, thins mucous; decongestant; reduces histamine release
Alfalfa Complex: reduces the effect of inflammatory endorphins; natural antihistamine
Garlic Complex: reduces inflammation; natural sinus and nasal decongestant
NutriFeron: build and strengthen the immune system
Remember, vitamins and supplements are not created equal - you actually do get what you pay for.
Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me with questions or the brand I recommend.

Sinus infections are usually caused by something irritating the sinuses. Most commonly allergies. You could try taking an over-the-counter allergy medication. That should keep you from getting a sinus infection from whatever is irritating your sinuses.
If you go to a place that sells herbal rememdies they'll be able to hook you up with a product called Echneacea (Sp?). Some people have good results with that for colds and sinus trouble.
I'm surprised that your doctor hasn't put you on an allergy medication like allegra since you get infections four times a year.
If you live in a city that is fairly high in pollution that might be causing the infections also. Some people are more sensitive to pollution than others. LOL, you might have to move to protect your long term health.

No such thing, really. An infection of any kind has to be treated with antibiotics or it won't go away and it will get worse. Since you have chronic infections, call the doctor's office and see if they will call in a prescription for you.
Avoiding them....if you are a smoker...stop. Smoking causes terrible sinus problems. You may want to ask your doctor for an allergy medication. If you get these 4 times a year at the same time of year, then something out there causing this. An allergy medication like Zyrtec or Singulair may prevent the reaction that causes the infection.

you can do yoga asana and pranayams. the best thing is to do a yoga activity called "Jal Neti". it should be done under professional guidance but i shall explain you the procedure:-
you need a special utencil (lota) with a long pipe from which water comes out.
fill it up with lukewarm water and a pinch of salt preferably sendha namak.
now sit with ur head forward now tilt ur head to either side and open ur mouth.
meanwhile fix the pipe of utnecil in ur nostil and start taking breath from ur mouth
now as u begin taking breath frm mouth start tilting the utencil so as to pour water in ur nostil
let the water come out from other nostril & keep ur mouth open for breathin
if you feel uneasy in head leave it compleately.
remember
water has to warm in winters and cold in summers
do add salt other wise it will hurt ur nostrils
keep ur head high don't lower it
if unsuccessful get professional help
remember do yoga with empty stomach or 5 hr after ur meals preferabaly in morning for best results
you can also try "Anulom Vilom" pranayam to avoid sinus.
Alopathy can't cure ur sinus it gives temporary relief and after taking medicines for long time ur doctor will advice u to under go a surgery. this will worsen the situation as sinus bags are natural defence to external allergens. even if everything written above is greek to you do try yoga as only yoga can cure it and that too with simple techniques.

As weird as this sounds, there is a sinus "cleaning" device called a Neti Pot. You can order them online, though most natural remedy-type stores carry them. It works by slowly and streadily flushing your sinuses clean with warm water. It is not uncomfortable at all, and it works wonders!!

Well people are correct. You do have to take antibotics if you get an infection. Try using those saline sinus washes they have now. Work great.....keeps you breathing and helps prevent infetion from getting started. Good luck.......i hate getting this every year too.

For temporary relief, I have been using those tablets in the shower. They really relieve the constant pounding that I feel behind my eyes and also the throbbing in my ears.
