No, not the source of ALL troubles.

Things will be better when we leave religion behind but there will always be conflict.

Better education will see religious figures drop dramatically. People with the ability should also try and stop the steep, long-term dumbing down which is apparent in mass-media.

Not all religions are the same. Within each type of faith there are people of worldly orientation and those of spiritual orientation. Controlling, powerful and widespread religions(you know the ones) can be seen as worldly, and mostly interested in keeping their followers in line while promoting things that run counter to their teachings. Almost always these are tied to state powers in some form or another. Local, community-oriented religions will provide some more spirituality for the congregation. Religion often gives people an excuse not to have a true sense of spirituality, but this is not always the case. Eliminating religion would mean the end of a line of spiritual teachers and helpers which would desolate the world. Let's keep our religions until we all carry love so strongly in our hearts that we don't need it anymore. Just please stop fighting over "which is right". Study them all, you might learn some new things.

Since the cave men people have seemed to have a need to feel "created." I can't see into the future any better than anyone else, but it does not seem likely that religion will go away any time soon. The Eagles sang, "Things in this life change very slowly...if they ever change at all." By the way...I'm a long term atheist.

There are some good religions out there, its just the loudest ones are the christians and islamics, they drown out the other religions like Paganism, Hinduism and Buddhism. I think that getting rid of ALL religions is a big mistake, hey isnt that what the christians want? If a christian wants something then its not neccesarily good......

Unfortunately, I think the human race would find reasons to discriminate, hate and kill even if we moved beyond religion. It would certainly be a big step if we could minimize the harmful effects of religion though.

Religion or no religion...one thing will eternally endure ==> the love of God, and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.

This does not mean bloodshed or hate. In fact, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is one of love. Christ died a sin-bearing death for all, even though He is sinless. That takes alot of love.
