Maybe you knew him before and you thought he was too ugly, or annoying, or shy, or something like that. But then something came over you and you decided to give it a shot - and it worked out? What changed your mind? I know my own mother said she NEVER wanted to date my father, let alone marry him...but sometimes things work out in mysterious ways. They often make for fun, inspirational stories for us guys who think that the really fun, smart, good-looking chick is completely out of our league. So how about it? Can we change your minds?

Almost exclusively!

In fact, the last time I dated someone who I initially thought was "my type" I was 16! Ever since then, if I can picture the relationship in my head, it just has not worked out. Including my (only and current) husband of 19 years... I don't know that we ever would have ended up together if a friend had not made several obvious hints to both of us, and we worked together at the time.

It's kind of like the love-hate thing. Like I've ended up with a few crushes on guys who picked on me and made me want to ring their necks. Then my ex he was a total video game freak and I hate those types but it worked out until I moved. Life is just so bizzare. I know what you mean though.

Not me but my best friend. This guy was madly in love with her and she kept blowing him off and I did all I could to protect her from him. I didnt think he was good enough or sincere enough etc. Well they have been married for 3 years now and I stood up in their wedding!! It was the joke that I had to give her up to him.
They are a beautiful couple and doing fantastic and she is his world!

Yep done it a few times. Even married one though it ended in divorce. Usually I don't want to date a guy based on looks or rep but they win me over by how they treat me. It makes such a difference.

My husband and I wouldn't have been able to stand each other in high school or our early 20's - I was preppy/ brainy cheerleader type and he was the "rebe" rocker so to speak -- now we are married with 4 beautifult children.

Go figure lol

Funny you should ask this, I remember once when I had just left school, there was a girl I asked if she would date me, she told me "It will be a cold day in Hell before I date you!" A week later, she didn't just date me, she slept with me, so Hell must have fozen over that night!

don't remind me. My experience was horrible. Idated the geeky nerdy type. He ended up being abusive. (mentally that is) my self esteem is a work in progress.

My mom says the same thing about dad. I never thought I'd date my husband, because at first he wasn't interested in me.
