I am in my late fifties, attractive and in good shape. What is it with the guys on dating services who email me because they like older women? I have old-fashioned values and grew up in a different generation then they did. Sex wasn't as loose then as it is now. This isn't a joke. I am looking for psychological theories, besides the obvious.. looking for a mother figure.

From the tone of your question it would seem that you think these 34 - 45 year olds must have a psychological problem if they are attracted to much older women. Perhaps they are attracted to you because you ARE attractive and IN good shape and OBVIOUSLY intelligent and independent. I am attracted to older women because they know who they are, what they want and they don't mince words. I'd hate to see your "values" prevent you from possibly meeting a very nice guy. By no means disregard your values, just reevaluate and perhaps adjust them. In any case, I do hope you find what you're looking for.

It reminds me of the movie 'Prime,' with Uma Thurman and Meryl Streep. He's in his early 20s and she's in mid-late 30s. Cute. Anyway, off the point. When I was 23, I had a relationship with a 31 year old. Every guy should be required to have an older woman relationship at least once when they're young--it's just often a perfect match up in many ways, especially when the partners are pretty equal in maturity, among other things. Sexually, it can be ideal. No, maturity isn't defined by age. I always felt a lot more wise and mature than my chronological age, and it sounds like you're in the same boat. I still like older women, but now that I'm quite passed the early twenties, older women are quickly becoming old women. Lol. Anway, if you find older women more appealing, then go for it!

I think the old fashion is what they are attracted to. A women like a mother that can take care of them. Plus older women make better lovers right?

A comprehensive answer to your admirers as a whole is impossible. Each of them will have a different issue or reason.
But, since you asked,
Older women have a general description of experience, patience and acceptance. These are all appealing traits, especially if you're hot.
Don't worry about their problems. Be flattered, look for who YOU want to be with and concentrate on your life. Go forward, (unless you want to study them for some reason??)

no men these ages are not looking for a mother figure just more experience at sex i would take a older women to bed then a younger women older women are a lot better in bed then younger women are.

Honestly there is a theory that is really unfounded that Women peak at your age sexually and are more sexually driven at your age than when you were younger....it sounds stupid I know, but thats pretty much it..
