Instead of getting yourself into an awkward situation you should talk to him honestly and openly about how you feel. tell him that you enjoy hanging out with him and want to be friends but no more than that. Honesty is the best way in a situation like this. That way there will be no misunderstandings.

if you be this guys gf he is going to expect that, you guys are going to do stuff...if you absolutly will not pick another guy then before you go into a relationship you are going to have to sit him down and explain it to him
