Some people hate Jehovah out of ignorance, or over some misunderstanding. A few may have had a bad personal experience with an individual who claimed to be a Jehovah's Witness, and prejudicially extended their animus to God Himself and this entire Christian religion.
However, it seems that the majority of this hatred is motivated by religious intolerance and bigotry. A few may even be motivated against their Christian worship by the unseen 'god of this system of things', Satan the Devil.
(2 Corinthians 4:4) the god of this system of things has blinded the minds of the unbelievers
Interestingly, such "hatred" should be expected by true Christians in this time of the end, and it actually helps identify Jehovah's Witnesses as Christ's true disciples:
(John 15:19) If you were part of the world, the world would be fond of what is its own. Now because you are no part of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, on this account the world hates you.
(Luke 6:22) Happy are you whenever men hate you, and whenever they exclude you and reproach you and cast out your name as wicked for the sake of the Son of man.
(1 Peter 4:4) Because you do not continue running with them in this course to the same low sink of debauchery, they are puzzled and go on speaking abusively of you.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching, but, in accord with their own desires, they will accumulate teachers for themselves to have their ears tickled; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, whereas they will be turned aside to false stories. You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.

Jesus said his followers would be "hated because they are no part of the world like he was no part of the world" John 17:14
So negative talk and slander are to be expected. For example some comments made are far from the truth:
1. We do not even have a collection plate. We have a
contribution box, that people can contribute whatever
they want. No certain amount required. Voluntary.
2. Jehovah's Witnesses do not believe that the earth is only
6000 years old. That is not taught in the bible.
3. We do not feel that we are under the ten commandments anymore. Those were written to the Israelites and were nailed to the torture stake when Jesus died. We are now under the command that Jesus gave us at Luke 10:27 "You must love Jehovah your God with your whole heart .... and love our neighbor as yourselves" If we have love for Jehovah and neighbor, we will not be killing, stealing, audltery etc.... of the 10 commandments.
Jehovah's witnesses have a true brotherhood without prejudice due to race or nationality. They try to live their lives according the bible and Jesus instructions. They share the Good News about the Kingdom door to door as Jesus instructed his followers to do. Matt 24:14
The next time one comes to your door, why not listen or ask questions. If you truly don't want them to come to your door ever again, tell them and they can put you on a "do not call" list. Which is good for a year.

I'm not sure what the Papal sunday soneone is talking about in regards to JW's.
Jehovah's Witnesses meet three times a week for worship.
Sabbath keeping for Christians is not related to a specific day of the week.
Paul in Galations said the Law was done away with.
Gal 4:4But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
5so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
9But now that you have come to know God, or rather to be known by God, how is it that you turn back again to the weak and worthless elemental things, to which you desire to be enslaved all over again?
10You observe days and months and seasons and years.
11I fear for you, that perhaps I have labored over you in vain.
-
Keeping a weekly sabbath is works of Law, which Christ ended for Christians.
What sabbath do Christians Keep?
Heb 4: 9So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God.
10For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His.
Christians are saved by undeserved kindness or grace, and not by works.
Every day is a sabbath, a day of rest devoted to God, not Saturday, nor is Sunday.
So the next time someone tells you JW's have to work for salvation, you can tell them otherwise.

“As you go, preach.”—Matt. 10:7.
“How, in turn, will they hear without someone to preach?” (Rom. 10:14)
"19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded YOU. And, look! I am with YOU all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.” Matt. 28:19, 20
So you see from the scriptures, (there are others as well) we have a work to do! We are told to preach. Older ones come out knocking on the doors because it is what they want to do. They understand this command from Jehovah. We have a warning work to do. We take our children out door to door because we are training them. We teach them WHY we are going out. The Bible says at Galatians 6:7: “Whatever a man is sowing, this he will also reap.” Parents who want their children to have high moral standards must first show that they themselves are living according to such standards. "12 Remember, now, your Grand Creator in the days of your young manhood, before the calamitous days proceed to come, or the years have arrived when you will say: “I have no delight in them" (Ecc.12:1)
"6 And these words that I am commanding you today must prove to be on your heart; 7 and you must inculcate them in your son and speak of them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up" (Deut. 6:6,7) So you see here, we HAVE to train our children!
The day of Jehovah is coming.
"14 “The great day of Jehovah is near. It is near, and there is a hurrying [of it] very much. The sound of the day of Jehovah is bitter. There a mighty man is letting out a cry. " Zephaniah 1:14
His day will not be late either! (Habakkuk 2:2, 3) "2 And Jehovah proceeded to answer me and to say: “Write down [the] vision, and set [it] out plainly upon tablets, in order that the one reading aloud from it may do so fluently. 3 For [the] vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late."
How can you survive this day of Judgment? It is by taking in accurate knowledge. This is what God requires of us. “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.” (John 17:3) So this is why we go door to door, it is what God has told us to do, and his day is almost here and in order to survive it you have to have accurate knowledge. It means your very life.

I don't think its evil at all. Jehovah Witness followers usually seem to try much harder to stick to their beliefs than the Xians do. I don't believe the religion but that doesn't make it evil. However I really don't like when they knock on my door... :) but I have never thought their intentions were less than good.

I am a Witness and in response to GirlinNB--
We never demand money from anyone. We do not pass collection plates and donations are made privately and no one is ever pressured to give. We even build our own Kingdom Halls, instead of hiring contractors, so that the congregation is not put under extra financial burden. We would never think of taking a percentage of anyones income. God loves a cheerful giver, not one who gives under compulsion to do so.

Maybe it is not so much the religion but the proselytizing that we object to. Religion is and should be a personal matter, you want to discuss it - fine but if I tell you no then that means no, it does not mean that you try try try again.

as one who studied at kingdom hall, and worked with others and dreamed of getting married to a jehova witness, I would not agree with you that this CHURCH ALONE is TRUE above all others!
NONE of the the churches are true in this generation and NONE Of them will be true until the day Jesus Returns in the clouds and great glory with all his holy angels.
Why do i know this is true?
because if you look really, really close at the interpretations of teh various religions you will find disagreement and scritpural alterations. Every church is guilty of this. Some correct verses True, but most Do not.
In the JW religion their New international Version changes all the words of God and lord to Jehova that are JUDGED TO BE correctly used. But in itself, while they try to TRUE above all others, it is an act of Using the Lords name in Vain. Where it was not intended to do so and where it doesnt need to be.
the same applies to many religion who are so hung up on legalized use of the name of Jesus or yahweh or jehovah. . or WAS it original the name of jesus Emmanuel. ? Emannuel sounds more spanish to me then greek or hebrew

All religions are false. You people knock on my door and try to sell me lies, that's why I am irritated with you. You think you know god but it is your delusion. Delusion!!!
What is in Genesis may be an answer, but it is one of many that are insanely wrong. The earth is not 6,000 years old and if there were a god presiding over all it would be not only be obvious but provable.
