This is not something I am dealing with, but since we are in the age of STDS and AIDS related issues, I have a question for you guys.

Would you ever consider dating or having a relationship with someone who was HIV positive?

I wouldn't consider it at all. I lost my husband four years ago and my children need me to stay healthy so I wouldn't risk my health with the idea that I could get Aids.

If you have children I think that it would be best to stay away from a sexual relationship with a person with AIDS.......I am sorry if I offended anyone out there that Has this It's just my view point.

not unless I was already hiv positive. thank God I'm not. I get tested about every 6 months. I would be there friend without any sexual contact. I'd also make sure that I was educated on all the issues concerning the disease.

i am a girl and i didn't know if u wanted just guys to answer but oh well.... that's a hard answer to answer... i would have to say if i didn't know right away that the dude had an std or aid or HIV, and i grew to like him, I'd say yes and no. i would have to look into precautions that i could take so i would get the disease. also i would look into if its even possible to have a relationship with him. like if hes gonna die soon then i dunno. or if we wouldn't be able to have kids... etc. its a hard thing to answer.

I would have a relationship but not a sexual relationship until I knew it was serious. Before I progressed to sex I would definately talk to a doctor and get suggestions on the safest way to proceed. Condoms are great but they break and a doc can tell you other methods to stay safe.

Your question is a difficult one to answer, but I'll be honest with, no, I would not date a person who has HIV positive, we can remain as friends, but nothing more.

yes, its just a illness... one that needs to be watched closer and needs to be more safe around. Everyone deserves love in their life, or should I say everyone needs to feel what true love is, and true love will overcome any thing standing in its way. The most powerful thing one person can do is to love another. Love answers any question, no if no buts...
Love can conquer any thing any time any where.

No... just to risky for me....and its not because of the "politics of this particular disease...
I would say the same thing about a relationship with someone that has any contagious deadly disease.

well I wouldn't look for it, but I would not exclude the right person for something like that, you'd just have to realize the dangers and consequences and use protection, to exclude someone for a reason like that would pretty much be the same as excluding someone due to any other ilness, i.e. cancer, diabetes, md, etc

Though you have managed to stir my conscience and shake my inner most with your Question, but it's very difficult rather impossible for me to consider this proposition.
