Presently, I'm a christian on the verge of loosing my faith. 4 the past few days, I've been thinking deeply abt religion and how it affects peoples lives. This question is actually meant to those who're extremely deep in faith. I became a christian because of my aunt's influence on me. People devout to religion might probably say that was all a result of God's blessing, which I thought it was at first. But people, are you the only ones who share these kinds of thought? What happens to the rest of the population out there following a different religion? Haven't you ever thought about what would have happened to you if you were born in a muslim's family? You would have been thinking the samething and remember that the bible and other holy books says we're not suppose to believe in the existence of any other god but yours. Aren't we being too ignorant when it comes to religion? Think about it: everybody is so confident their religion is right you just can't say which ones are fallacious

Good question. I consider myself a Christian - but do not participate in organized religion for the very reasons you mention in your question. Not honoring other faiths goes against what I believe the Bible tries to teach us. Religions that think they are the only ones going to heaven , who think that gays are condemned, and who preach intolerance are being somewhat insulting to God. Since the majority of the world is not Christian - can you really think that God made a whole bunch of "mistakes" when he created all these people? Respecting nature and all people no matter what their race or religion is how I honor God. Being religious does not mean going to church every week. I live my life in a religious way every day through my thoughts and actions.

I understand what you're thinking. I myself, grew up in a muti-religious society (me being in minority). Growing up at school, there were huge clashes in opinions on what religion was more superior. I don't think that anyone has the right to say that his/her religion is the true word of god or the religion that would outlive others. I believe that every religion has it flaws and every religion in this world is there to guide mankind from evil doings. So whatever religion that you're following will give you a sense of decipline and a sense of responsibility. Some people just use religion as an excuse to their inhuman behavings.
What we learn about our religion when we are young, remains in our minds like words carved in stone. We are brought up within these walls of faith. They prevent us from looking clearly, beyond what is within our reach. We grow up believing that our religion is the best and the others are just rubbish. If only we could think out of these walls, we could understand each other better and their wouldn't be any wars.

I am a Christian also and I really do not like to think of my belief as a religion. I like to think of my faith as a way of life, something I eat, drink, breathe and walk. In other words, something that is with me and so much a part of my life that it comes natural. I believe that our best example of belief is to see how Christ lived and how He was with others. He always said that His will was to do the Will of His Father. I believe we need to keep in touch with ourselves as human beings and remember to deal in the reality of life. Do not set our standards and expectations so high that God can only attain to them. Another thing I've learned is that God is never disappointed in us, remember disappointment means expectation, God already knows the future and our choices, He is always there to help us with them if we will just turn to Him for the answers and not get tied up in to man made "religion", but instead lean back and relax in His grace and acceptance.

I understand your questioning. In Romans, we learn that the questioning is in fact verification of being God's child. It is a matter of faith, verified by elements of reserach as well, that confirms to us Christians that our faith, our God gives us the one way to heaven. Please check into the books listed below. I also believe that the Bible teaches us that once one is saved, that salvation cannot be lost. One may doubt or backslide, but God does not ever rescind His gift of salvation. What kind of God would He be if He did?
