I have seen this question asked all my life. Since I dream vividly in color, and most of the people I've ever discussed it with do as well, I have never understood why the question is even asked. Why wouldn't we dream in color? Dreams are part of our memory functions. Surely you can remember the blue of the sky, the color of a nice juicy steak, the lush green of a the woods...
Close your eyes: can you visualise a field of color?
If not, you probably can't dream in color. If you can visualize a color, then I'm completely sure you dream in color.
Can't you remember your own dreams? Were they in color?

Yes. Generally, artist type people remember them, and others don't. But we all dream in color. It's just like using your eyes during the daytime.
