I was raised christian, however, that religion does not suit me so I have been looking into buddhism because as far as I have studied thier beliefs seem to fall in line with my beliefs. I mean in the bible is says "Do not judge, and you will not be judged", so why are they so judgemental about everyone elses belief system? I think that is just rude, arrogant and not what christianity is suppose to be about which is one reason I am on my search. Another is I truly to believe in reincarnation and want to partake in a religion that supports that.

I did not mean "all christians" I meant the ones I have encountered in my lifetime. I just wanted to make that clear. And no I don't believe that christianity is the "only" way to God that's a croc.

Christians are just that way, I suppose. I mean, God gave you free will, but if you actually use it, your damned to hell for eternity.

And this is exactly why I left the Catholic faith for Buddhism myself. Most Christians feel so devout in their belief that they truly believe it is the only way to be religious, and despite all the teachings of the Bible ("Love thy neighbor") they are still ignorant of other peoples religions and belief systems. From a certain point of view, they are the same as Middle Eastern Muslims who are trying to evict the Jews from the area, just on a lesser scale.

The people that put together the Christian religion, and have shaped it over the last 2000 years, have learned from their mistakes.

They knew full well that if anyone EVER begins to question or doubt their religion, then they would quickly leave it.

It is on extremely shaky ground, it has no evidence to back it up, and the majority of it has been exposed as lies or misunderstandings. Therefore, people like Martin Luther started the whole Christian mantra that "reason is the enemy of faith", etc.

They make it clear to their followers that to question anything is to risk god's wrath. This threat of damnation is what keeps their followers in line. Otherwise, and anyone with open eyes can see this, NO ONE today would follow that religion. It is obviously false, it is obviously corrupt, and it is obviously a brainwashing cult.

Anyone who is serious about his religion should think that it is the right one. Otherwise, why would he or she be involved in it? Christians are admonished, make sure of all things, hold fast to what is fine. 1 Thessalonians 5:22
A person should make sure that his beliefs can be supported by the Scriptures, for there is only one true faith. Ephesians 4:5 confirms this, mentioning one Lord, one faith, one baptism.
Jesus did not agree with the modern, relaxed view that there are many roads, many religions,, all leading to salvation. Instead, he said, Narrow is the gate and cramped the road leading off into life, and few are the ones finding it. Matthew 7:14

Not sure that there was a question there but I agree 100 percent with everything that you said.

I always thought they did not want you to look into other religions because Christianity was such a conflicting nonsensical mess.

If you knew that some religions actually made perfect sense 100 percent of the time how long would you stay christian.

I think that we are doomed so long as we choose to follow "organized" religion. The head always leads the body.

Maybe we could make world religions mandatory for grade 9 students. Give them a taste of them all and let them decide whether they want to participate.

Part of the protestant movement, lutheran I think, was started because people thought we should have access to the bible and be able to interpret the symbols for ourselves. Previously it was only the leading members of the church who had actual bibles of their own.

I have been a Christian for years and have never heard anyone put down someone for investigating another religion. It is one thing to read about another faith, like Buddhism, then becoming one. Of course Christians will frown on you leaving Christ. We believe He is the Way to the Father. Buddhism, is pretty good at telling you how to live a good life, but check out salvation. Are you willing to leave a God who has reached out to you and offered you eternal life in Heaven? Just check it out is all I am saying.

Because they are afraid that they might find the truth in other religion, I suppose. The same concept applies to believers of other religions and atheism as well.

"Do not judge, and you will not be judged" didn't seem to apply when Jesus drove out the merchants in the temple, did it?

There are many paths to God, true. But labeling all Christians as "against" learning other religions is unjust. You're exhibiting the same behavior your condemn them for.

Well, sheep don't question. They just follow the leader. If you explore other religions, they assume it's because you're questioning Christianity (which is not always the case). The reasons you stated above are exactly why I left Christianity and am now Wiccan.
