I think it is about preference!! many people will say electric!! I have an electric toothbrush, and use it just once a day and the other time I use manual toothbrush!! I don't know why it is just what I prefer!! I think it is mainly because I am sick of constamtly recharging it!! And I don't like to leave it charging whilst no-one is home in case an electric fault occurs and a fire starts!! It most likely wont - but that is just me - I don't like leaving electrical appliances on whilst I'm not home!! But anyway, I do find that sometimes when I use my electric toothbrush my teeth do feel a lot cleaner!! if you do decide to get an electric toothbrush don't go for the cheap versions (the ones that cost under £10 or something - they are not good!! Go for the good brand ones - you can get them quite cheap nowadays! My one cost a little under £30 and it was half price when I bought it!! So I got a really good deal!!

It's all about how you use them.
If you use manual toothbrush properly it can be perfectly acceptable and effective. But generally electric toothbrushes are a lot easier to use and require less manual dexerity hence why they are usually recommended.
Then again if you don't use your electric brush properly it's no good either (ie. if you don't brush long enough in the right places etc)

So in short, it's about technique.

Manual toothbrushes are considered the gold standards, but electric toothbrushes are also good.

I've been using a manual toothbrush all my life and I still have all my choppers. Plus I don't have to buy batteries.

which one to use is a personel preference, the trick is in how long you are brushing for. spend at least 2 minutes brushing your teeth and it shouldnt matter. make sure you brush the back teeth and on all the surfaces.

any one which you prefer actually. both are equally as efficient.it just depends on whether you know how to brush your teeth properly. not whether the brush is electric or not.
