You should not be consuming more than 12 oz a week. These guidelines were made due to potential mercury poisoning in fish. So it would be best to cut back as much as you can.

I am not sure about cancer but i know you are not suppose to eat tuna every day! Becuase of the mercury count in it. Same reason you are not suppose to feed it to your cats. Alot of times you will get a UTI from it because the ur urinary track has a hard time breaking down the mercury. I kinda did this my self but mine was tuna with pickles and after about a month of that with crackers bread cassoroles ect i got a really bad uti and they said it wasn't a normal one it was caused from mercury then they asked me if i ate alot of tuna and responded yes and they told me i shouldn't eat no more then 2X a week and that is even pushing it if i do it everyweek. Try to eat eggs they have the same omega fats and protein levels! good luck!

Tuna contains mercury. In small doses, this is not harmful, but a steady diet of tuna can cause problems. The recommended serving is three times a week. It is not a very good idea to limit ones diet to a single protein source.

Tuna does not contain enough murcery to do any damage. Tuna can be eaten every day three times a day. You may however want to vary your diet other than just tuna.
