Unquestionably, the feelings of the Iraq people should be taken into consideration when determining our involvement in the war. It is true that the majority of Iraqis don’t want the United States troops in their country. They feel that the presence of the United States military causes more havoc than peace. The U.S. government is ignoring Iraqi input by remaining in Iraq. Assuredly, the Iraqi people are intelligent human beings and therefore deserve nothing less than to be heard. Too many people in both the United States and Iraq oppose United States involvement in this war. Obviously, we can’t possibly be helping Iraq very much if Iraqis would rather have us leave their nations. The United States should accommodate their wishes and withdraw from the war while with their pride still in tact. Although we had good intentions to help Iraq form a stable government, the war has proved to be difficult for Iraqis to live through.

I want to enhance a point you made that many will miss, the Iraqi's are intelligent people. The average grade level attainment is a year and a half high than in the US. That means the average Iraqi is better educated than the average American!

Ri says AMEN.

I have a friend who works as a sociologist over in Iraq. Before the women could go where they pleased (Burka or no); the children could freely attend school; and a person could actually walk down the street without too much worry of molestation. Don't forget the fact that under Saddam, the Iraqis had an average of 16 hours a day of electricity...now they are down to two or three.

What we have done to the Iraqis is worse than genocide.

"It is true that the majority of Iraqis don’t want the United States troops in their country. They feel that the presence of the United States military causes more havoc than peace."

Based on what? How is it true? Source?

Governmental leaders who obey public opinion polls, which have been horribly biased and flawed make the worst leaders imaginable and rarely fit the term leader. A very good example of this was the VietNam war.

Historically, Americans have never seen the long term benefit to a war until many years after it had been fought and won. Scanning over editorial pages of many major papers from the periods that led up to US involvement will bear this out. Popular opinion is tantamount to living life as it is when in fact, we closed our eyes to very real and very dangerous threats in favor of living life as it was. No amount of wishing will make these threats disappear, it is going to take dedication, perseverance and a large expenditure of effort. America is under attack from several different directions and unless we act and act in the correct manner, you may kiss all this goodbye. Your ability to express your opinion, your freedom to go where you please, when you please, your freedom to worship or not in your own way are at risk. Too much hangs in the balance for me to personally trust popular opinion poll results. They aren't accurate and rarely choose the best option for the long term.

Obeying public opinion polls does not make for good policy.

The only solution before the US forces leave Iraq is they need to divide Iraq into four regions. One for the Shias, the other for Sunnis, the third one for Kurds,n the remaining live in the fourth. This is because even if US makes a immediate withdrawal
the bloody internal fighting continues. The other option may be the US need to hand over to UN which makes the proper division of Iraq.Make sure Saddam by will or force was the only one who could keep Iraq united so long,no one else can ever make it.
Have a nice time.

Pulling out now will encourage the radical elements and bring about a take over by Iran.
Just like they did (with Syria) in Lebanon.
Iran wants to rebuild the Persian Empire, control the whole middle east , the oil and the sea ports.

The US presence is not to kill Iraqis. The insurgency is there to kill Iraqis. We are staying there to stop the insurgency. Bush has the priorities right. Those that don't have caused a lot of grief.
