MGG : The answer to your question is somewhat, obvious. This is because of the very thing they [atheists] accuse Christians of, (trying to shove their "religion" down the throats of others), IS being done by them. Atheism IS a religion; whereby, the worship of knowledge [intellectualism] and self-promotion is paramount in their dogma presented in this subject area. It really bothers atheists that you believe in something other than theories such as evolution and other off-the-wall doctrines. In short, atheists attempt to make monkeys out of everyone, as Darwin, their god, has made monkeys out of them. Hopefully, they will have the wisdom to be less subjective and more objective to what their minds absorb. Apart from this, you have those, who are plain agitators - like to press everyone's "buttons" and rile them up !!!

Look at the category just below this one. It reads "Royalty." Do you believe that only dukes and earls should be allowed to ask/answer questions there? How about the sections associated with diseases, should they be limited to sick people?

More importantly, this is NOT a religious cheering section. It is a Q&A forum ON religion.

Belief in a mythical paranormal entity is a fascinating subject, even though I am an athiest. It is a very interesting insight into human nature and is worthy of discussion. I enjoy discussing it.

Then again, it really is SO easy to poke fun at idiots. Jesus-freaks (and similar) are such easy targets for ridicule; sitting ducks!

Because aggressive evangelizing and other acts of religious bigotry demand it. Those who think they can't freely practice their religion until my children are forced to recite a formulaic prayer aloud in public school need to be hauled up short. Those who think they have to force my children's schools to refrain from the proper instruction in science by denying evolution need to be told to butt out. Those fundamentalist jackbooted thugs who think it is their God-given right to tell my daughters what they may or may not do with their own bodies need to be confronted and warned that they risk violent assault or worse if they persist. Those religious fanatics who do their evil best to deny "the morning-after pill" to my wife and daughters and other women need to be countered forcefully and persistently.

See, there's this thing called freedom, and those fundy freaks who attempt to deny it to others are as unwelcome as Osama bin Laden's airplanes, and indeed are as much my enemies as the Viet Cong who shot up and blew up my fellow GIs in that ugly little war half a lifetime ago. I and those who feel as I do have learned that one must be prepared to go to war when our rights are threatened. That's why we answer questions in the religion/spirituality subject area. Capisce?

Because disbelief is a form of belief, with reference to the same sorts of ideas. You can choose to believe in God, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or the teapot orbiting Pluto, and I can choose NOT to believe in those things; and we both have the right to discuss our beliefs and disbeliefs, and both positions are equally germane to this topic.

I do believe in God, but I see religion as little more than a lie about God.

I see spirituality as the best way back to God.

I think that it is unfortunate that they lumped spirituality in with something as despicable as religion. They should be separate.

Because we have the correct answers. I'd think that would be pretty easy to have seen.

Why exactly does it bother so many believers that we answer their questions? Doesn't that say something interesting about the quality of their belief?
