I'm 19 years old, and i just started college. I graduated from highschool on June 2006. I met this guy through my little sister at the time was a freshmen @ my highschool and I was a senior. He was also a freshmen. We both met around Feb. We both became close friends and we called eachother "twins", we both made our own handshake and we sometimes shared gloves. At that time i was dating someone else. He seen me dating and he caught me kissing my boyfriend. Then after i broke up with my ex, I felt more free. Then when my summer vacation came. I started to miss him, and i noticed that i had a crush on him. I told him, then he became confused about me. Then he went after me, @ first i denied him. Then on sep 23, 2006 we became a couple. Now were together for 3 months. Now im falling for him and I want to be with him, but my parents wont accept him because of the age difference. His 15 and im 19. His taller then me and he makes me happy, idk what to do. He truely means alot to me. Help!

I say go for it! I know many people where the girl is 3-4 years older than her boyfriend and they have great relationships.

Understand that most parents want what is in their best interests.... not you. The reason? Because your parents are hung up with society's norm of the perfect couple.... or... a couple where a man can provide for his woman financially with a very good education and high profile job. That way... they don't have to worry about taking care of you. Moreover, they worry what men can 'do' to you if your parents felt some men weren't financially secured. That means those men will not support you financially... or you going through hardships to raise a child (if you plan to have one)... etc. Most parents fear that... so they look to someone who can provide for their daughters. That way, parents can be self-assured all is in good hands. TO be honest... it's mostly about financial security.

I get this all the time. Now that I'm an adult... I noticed this when I'm around women whose parents do the same thing to them. It has been this way in society in general. Not just America... but everywhere else around the world.

Your parents think you are still young and want to control and mold your life. It may be difficult to get out of... but because you are an adult and your bf is a minority.... then there's the law you have to think about.

If he truly makes you happy then get to know him but also tell your parents that you are sorry that you can't accept their ways and that they have to start accepting yours.

Just be ready for the consequences.
Stand up. Be your own woman but also understand why your parents are doing that to you. So it doesn't hurt to ask.

Usually I say age doesn't matter and to me it doesn't but he really is young. Give him time to mature. I am 28, fiance's 26, my sis is 30, husband 27, and my bro 35 and wife 45. so age is not a problem, maturity is.

If you both were in your 20's I say it's fine. However, he is still underage in the eyes of the law. If I were you, I would wait a few years. Good luck

Sweetie, i know you like him but he's underaged. This is a definite no no. If you love him... then wait until he's of a legal age. You're a woman now and he's still a boy.

I KNOW YOU CARE ABOUT HIM, BUT HE IS TO YOUNG FOR YOU NOW. STAY FRIENDS. AND ONCE HE TURNS THE LEGAL AGE, THEN GO FOR IT. IF YOU TWO STILL FEEL THE SAME FOR EACH OTHER. BUT FIND SOMEONE CLOSER TO YOUR AGE WHO IS AN ADULT FOR THE TIME BEING. AND IF THE OTHER RELATIONSHIOP WAS MEANT TO BE. YOU WILL KNOW.

at your age, the age difference is a lot. when he gets to his twenties, it won't seem so bad. if he truly means a lot to you, then pull back and wait and watch. at 15, he doesn't know his own mind...let him grow up.
