I agree with bird man on the "table food" a bite or two of what we eat is OK and the birds love it. They feel like they are part of the human flock. I never feed avocados, chocolate, I take the pits out of cherries before I give them to her. Use your best judgment and when in doubt DON"T feed it to your bird.
I put her perch by our dining table. When we eat, Echo gets to eat a few bites with us and, she gets to spend time with the family out of her cage.

Amazon Parrot Food

The parrot will require a great deal of attention and social interaction. He will also require a great deal of stimulation from toys. Without the mental stimuli of social interaction and toys he will become a parrot with behavioral problems.

The basic diet should be a special pellet or commercial Amazon food formulated especially for Amazons. These commercial foods should be supplemented with any healthy food that you eat. They can have fruit, pasta, vegetables, nuts, seeds, cooked beans, hot peppers, and bell peppers. The parrot can eat anything healthy that you eat. Fruit is their favorite treat. They should be provided with a cuttlebone and a mineral block.

You should also make sure to avoid foods such as chocolate, caffeine, alcohol, kidney beans, lima beans and avocados, because these foods are specifically very dangerous to parrots

Other than the avocado, and chocolate, you mentioned, an Amazon can eat anything you eat!!! and dearly love it.. Sugared cereal(Frosted Flakes), etc. will spoil them and not a good idea, but people food spoils them anyway, so like everything, a little now and then, in moderation, won't hurt him at all. My Amazon enjoys a few drinks of my coffee every morning, and will share my beer in the evening,(never hard liquor), and knows his limits better than I do!! Ha-ha, seriously... But like I said in moderation---Good Luck... Mine beats me to the table every meal-time, and is not a bit bashful, about helping himself!!! Birdman
