Are there any Christians that came to Christianity after being an atheist?
Why did you choose to become a Christian instead of staying an atheist?

I was once an atheist myself and questioned my faith in my beliefs because of how I viewed other atheists around me.
In fact it was atheism that helped to turn me to God.
All atheists are doing great work for God by sheparding his flock towards him. A round of applause for you all.

I actually went from Atheist to Christian but it was a struggle for me. Other Atheists did in fact concern me because they seemed intellectual but not necessarily wise yet some Christians were clearly not mental giants but had very blessed lives. It was only when I discovered there were intellectual Christians that could hold an intelligent debate with a sound alternative view that I really became interested. Ultimately there was never proof enough to believe based on evidence alone. I just tried it and for me it worked - I was happy and still am. The proof I wanted came after I made my choice. I have always been baffled why God does that but there must be a reason. I was 21 at the time and it has not made life easier but I love the way it turned out.

I once knew a man who was a Christian after having been an atheist for several years. However, he later turned back to atheism. I wasn't living in the same town as he was when he did this and it was before I became an atheist, so I can't say what his reasoning was.

you lost me at ."questioned my faith in my beliefs "

Anyway, yes there are many atheist that become christians. Not well educated atheist, but atheist none the less. Atheism is simply a position held in regards to theism. It does not imply smart, dumb, good nor bad. All children are born atheist. Which reminds me, didnt Jesus say "Become like the little children"?

Well my friend, fairies are an imaginary thing.

You can come to God from any other way of life, Jesus Loves you and only wants the best for you. God so loved the world that He gave His only son the whoever believes in Him may be saved.

although it was your atheist lifestyle that turned you eventually to God and your able to say it in a public place, you should not applaud then, in this, because what if all atheists are not as humble and open to their faith as you were, me i was a born christian, i am happy that you turned around I'm not sure as to where your walk is now, but you need to use your new found faith and bring your other friends to know God as you do if you ever need help you can e-mail me God Bless ill be praying!!!

Why do so many Christians seem to think there are two roads to take-you are either a Christian or an Atheist.

There are many religions and there are many more logical religions than Christianity is.

Praise God that you found the truth. I was never an atheist but my brother in law was. He decided after his son was born to "try going to church". He went when my daughter was baptised and the Holy Spirit opened his heart on that day. He is now the teens Sunday School teacher and an awesome example of a Christian.

my house burnt down almost 2 years ago...lightning struck it and my family and i lost many things. then for the next year or so, so many bad htings started happening to me and my family. So I began to lose my faith in God. I just didn't understand how he would let the type of things that were happening to us happen to us. And so I became atheist.

but then my best friend taught me that God only let those things happen to us for a reason. like, it brought our family closer to eachother, I made new friends, and I have a better understanding on how to be thankful for what i have. So, my faith in God increased as i went back to church every once in awhile.

My best girl-friend was raised an atheist. She came to Christ in her early-mid twenties. Faith really didn't rule my childhood, but rather it was a very matter-of-fact thing for me, kinda like wearing jeans- no big deal, just a fact of my life. I sometimes wonder if the factual way I lived about my spirituality gave effect to her.

I don't think everyone wants to wear jeans, and that's okay. But I'm nerved when people tell me that I'm stupid for wearing them.

I don't think everyone wants to believe in Jesus, and that's okay. But I'm nerved when people tell me that I'm stupid for believing in Him.
