My daughter loves the sippy cups with the straws (I think they are by muchkin), but they seem to leak everywhere. Has anyone found a good cup that doesnt leak? I usually have the gerber ones with just the spout, but Alexis likes somehthing different (the straw ones). Help!

My son loves his Gerber easy grip two handled soft straw cup. He has never wanted to drink from a standard sippy cup and has drunk from this cup since he was 8 or 9 months old. He is now 2 and this is his cup for the car.

If this is the same cup your daughter likes there is probably a problem with the straw valve which allows water to leak. A properly function cup like this will never leak.
It's great!

My 16 month old son uses the straw sippy cups alot and I have never had a problem with leaking. He drops them, turns them over--and no leaks. I must be lucky. I don;t know why everyone else is having a problem but I never put mine in the dishwasher--I always wash them by hand. Maybe that's the difference.

But to answer your question-- have a huge variety of sippy cups--Gerber, munchkin, some i use with the plug that makes the flow of milk less and some I don't. I didn't want him getting attached to one certain kind so that's why i use about every kind out there. Plus, if we leave one somewhere it's no big deal. I bet I have at least 10 non-disposable types and 15-20 of the others.

Actually...the "leaking part" I despise about the straw sippys. However all three of our boys have them.

My oldest son is seeing a speech therapist & pathologist, and they recommended we toss out the other sippys for these, for all three of our boys because the way that they have to use the straw sippy develops better face/jaw muscles. So my boys have the straw sippys the only one who still uses the old sippy cup is my 15 month old and ONLY in the van (where I can't just stop and pick up the dropped cup when it drops)

I have yet to find a straw sippy cup that doesn't leak but my kids love them too. I prefer the Evenflo cups with the straws overall. Those gerber barbell shaped sippy cups are the only ones I've ever bought that don't leak.

My son is 20 months old and all he will drink out of is the sippy cup by NUBY that has the soft nipples.Thankfully those do not leak unless my son shakes the sippy really hard-then some leaks out-but only a small amount.I don't know how your daughter would feel about a soft nipple though if she likes straws so much.

my daughter loved the nuby sippy cups with a rubber top. but you have to watch cause they can stick the finger in it and it will then become a leaker too. But I would recommend to start switching over to a cover cup at table time only. Because by the age 2 and with potty training sippy cups are recommended no more. Due to the decrease of needed fluid intake(most parents over liquid there kids). Hard to potty train with a sippy cup in hand all day. I understand they are nice for the car, but it is harder to break a sippy cup then bottle. And then that leads to harder potty training. good luck with whatever your choice may be
