I need to help raise money for a Speical Olympics Team to help them compete in the world games. They need to be sent to China to compete. They get very little funding and rely mostly on fundraisers. Can anyone give me ideas on how to raise a lot of money?

Well, you didn't specify what you meant by "a lot" of money", but it's been my experience that so many successful fundraisers have been done, you could mimic one or more of these campaigns and do just fine.
I am not sure if the group you are representing is local or not, but if they are, all the better. Americans are still a very generous bunch, but they have read enough stories of charities using money for the wrong reasons that some are reluctant to give. If you are local, you're golden, because people realize that lessens the chances of any mispropriety with their hard-earned donations.
Start by soliciting groups that work with the athletes you are trying to support. If you're in a larger area, you should be able to find Charitable Foundations that do nothing but give money away and they will be familiar with what you're trying to do.
If you end up doing a grass-roots campaign, publish a web site that shows the athletes, how the trip is going, photos and results of the competitions and how happy they are to have the opportunity in general. Get people involved and the support will be all the better. As far as a specific idea goes, one of the most popular ideas I've worked with is when people make a donation, they get to write their name on a pre-printed, die-cut, piece of thick paper (in your case, perhaps a cut-out of a tennis shoe with the words, "I support Special Olympics", then it is taped on a wall of the business where they made the donation. If you get enough stores, taverns (you'd be surprised) and other business involved, you could raise a great deal of money. I did this for Muscular Dystrophy a number of years ago and it became a competition with the employees to see just how much we could paper-up the place with donation cut-outs. Well, it's a great cause, good luck to you.

frame of mind your community particular Olympics Society with the idea of doing of undertaking. As a non-earnings they must be able to do 2 raffles a year. Raffles are a superb thanks to strengthen money. You get the article donated, print out the tickets and get busy promoting . I did some raffles many years in the past, quite the only which raised the most money change right into a hog raffle. sure...I suggested a pig ! The pig change into donated, a butcher donated the butchering and the tickets offered like warm brownies. WIth the commercial device the way it truly is now, a huge quantity of unpolluted meat may be an basic thanks to make money!

My favourite is the sponsered bed race! you need a couple of bed-hospital ones are best as they are designed to move-two teams of four-five people, and a circuit, or track. put one in the bed as a patient, the rest push-can do this in fancy dress. if you can get free loan of the track and the gounds its in you could also have other events, ie, greasy pole, tug of war with people paying to enter. you could also rent out pitches to burger wagons and ice cream vans, whatever the give you in rent is all profit. hope some of these ideas help.
