Can we talk about anything here or are there subjects that we should discuss? I ask because it feels like it is easy to offend believers even without trying. I got a question removed and it wasn't blasphemous or anything else....Tell me what subject is a no no!

Thank you Rev T L Clarck!
I like starting debates and discussing ideas, my question wasn't meant as an insult.

There should be no subject so tender that it can't be discussed. However, when you're calling into question an individual's beliefs, it is important to be careful how you word your question, if in fact you are looking for an honest answer and not just trying to incite one of the famous bashing wars that break out on here from time to time.

For example... there has been much debate over where the world's population came from if indeed Adam and Eve were the only people God created. Sure you could ask "Where did all the other people come from" and that would be an honest question worthy of discussion and even debate.... however I have seen some questions formed like this "Since you Christians believe Adam and Eve were the first people and Eve had three sons, doesn't that mean the first family had to be doing some serious incest for the rest of the people in the world to be born"

You see how one is actually asking a question, while the other is more abrasive than inviting.

I don't know what your question was or why it was deleted, but if you have an honest question, I'm sure we can discuss it as mature adults... we don't have to agree, but we must respect each other.

As my old granny used to say, "It's not what you say, but HOW you say it"

Text on sites like this is completely un-emotive, and open to the interpretation of the users mindset. Many times I've posted answers and questions which seem to have been totally mis-interpretated by some (not the majority). There are always those who will not agree with you either, and take a more attacking stance with their replies.

Don't worry about it and don't take any negativity personally, say and ask what you want.

It isn't the subjects which are taboo, it's the opinions about those subjects which seem to have the greater reaction.

If you attacked someones beliefs then that is a subject no no. What is it you wanted to know? If it is a true searching question than I see no offense in the asking. If it is a attacking question than I can see how it might be offensive. Be more diligent in how you ask the question. Phrase it in such a way if it were turned on you you wouldn't get offended. You know do unto others and lets see how that works.

If you are looking to discuss or debate, I welcome you. If you are trolling for attention, please go elsewhere.
