I read that you aren't suppost to eat right before and right after you exercise. But I like to exercise when I'm done eating. I lost 100 pounds and always did it that way so for me it didn't matter when I ate.

Not right before you workout. You should give yourself a couple of hours so your food begins to digest and you get the nutrients out of the food that your body will need during the workout. You should eat a combination of things. If you go to www.intense-workout.com there is some great info.

It would be beneficial to eat before your workout, as long as you don't overeat. And assuming you're eating nutricious food.
It'll give you fuel for extra stamina.
I'd say like an hour, hour and a half prior to workout. Depending on how much you eat, longer or shorter.
Definately, if its breakfast- at least eat a breakfast bar or something. GIVE YOUR BODY WHAT IT NEEDS- FOOD FOR ENERGY

You should wait a little while after eating to work out and eat light foods . your stomach takes blood to work to digest the food wich in turn keeps it from the muscle. when the blood goes to your stomach it is called vasodialation.
So eating and not waiting will cause your work out to be less effective.

Sure but I'd keep it light. I sometimes with eat a Nutrigrain bar (<120 calories). You don't want to eat too much since your stomach and your muscles have to "fight" over the same amount of blood.

I like to have a snack before I work out. Like a yogurt or a granola bar, or fruit. Nothing heavy, but something that will give me energy.
