Squats and lunges worked good for me.

Squats and lunges work wonders. Be sure to do them correctly though so you don't hurt yourself. Another move is to be on your hands and knees - extend right leg out straight and lift and lower and be sure to keep your hips turned down. Switch legs. Then in the same position - bend right leg and pull your knee in towards your chest then while keeping the leg bent press the heel up (like a donkey kick). One more move is to lay down on your stomach with hands under your chin and chest is just barely lifted up - spread the legs wide and turn your toes out - lift and lower the legs squeezing the butt as you do and as you lower don't let the toes touch the floor and try to keep the toes turned out. Do 3 sets of 15 reps per side for each exercise.
