You are most likely up against the hardware limitations of your device. There is really no way to "get" your camera to take faster pictures, unless you "get" another camera. I know that doesn't seem to help, but that is all you can do.

However, there are some factors that you can check before throwing in the towel:
Speed of the flash card - 2x, 4x, 8x, etc. Your camera may be able to write at 8x, for example, but if you only have a 4x card, guess what speed your camera will write at? Also check the write speed on the camera. If it will only write to the card at 2x, then speed of the memory is irrelevant.

As for the blurry images, check the settings. I have sometimes had the settings on my camera set to "night." If this is the case, you need to have the camera absolutely motionless. Believe me, you cannot achieve the necessary motionless position by holding the camera. Try setting the camera down on a stationary object and snapping a few shots. If that clears up the picture, you have solved the problem.

Good luck!

There's not really much you can do to take faster photos. Though, turning off the LCD screen and using the optical viewfinder instead should improve shooting times a little.

But, your camera is now quite old (3 1/2 yrs) and it's processor performs quite slowly compared to newer cameras.
If you want much faster operation you will have to invest in a new 'good' camera.

Sounds like you're using the automatic mode without a flash. If you're using auto with no flash, the camera keeps the shutter open longer, which means that it will take longer to take a picture. Try using the flash when you're inside or manually setting a faster shutter speed.
