The picture was taken on holiday and shows a moth / butterfly with clearly the picture of a Japanese woman on its back.

Sounds very interesting. If it is that amazing, send it to National Geographic, and if they show no interest, keep on sending it to major magazines / newspapers until you get it printed. Make sure you name and contact details are attached and do not send the original. By the way, as a photographer myself, I would love to see it. My email is straightshots@ihug.co.nz

If you took the picture, get it copywrited... for you.
Then see if any local publishers would be interested in it.
Maybe contact National Geographic.
