My cat was spastic when I first brought her home too. It may just be they don't know how to react to a new environment. if the cat wants to sleep with you, that might help to calm them down, but it might just be as simple as giving him time to adjust.

Six months is the time for spaying/neutering so do that RIGHT AWAY!
Cats just don't sleep like people do. That's why the term "cat nap" is so often heard. Your cat is still young enough that he may sleep for a few hours at night and then want to get up to play or eat in the middle of the night, then go back to sleep. Just as with human babies it takes a certain maturity to confom to human sleep patterns.
My adult cats are pretty respectful of my 7-hour sleep pattern and one was yowling at my door for at least 1/2 hour before I got up this morning. Only one of my cats sleeps in the bedroom with me at night.

I agree with Larry, it's still a baby and they do tend to be wild sometimes. He just needs more playtime and exercise. The only solution is to play with him a lot during the day and then hope he'll sleep at night. (Good luck!) I wouldn't let him sleep with you, he really will keep you up all night. Set up a kitty-safe separate room for him with litter box, food, water, a bed and toys. Put him in there at night and close the door, then close your door and go to bed. This way at least you'll have a little soundproofing.

It's a kitten it's natural for it to act crazy, just go with the flow. Cats are nocturnal by nature if you let it sleep with you it will keep you up half the night

No, he's a kitten. It's the kitten stage, they nap, get active, nap again, get active, sleep, get active again and so on and so. Besides, cats are naturally nocturnal, and he's probably sleeping most of the day while your gone. If you let him sleep with you, he'll appreciate it, but won't stay in bed with you all night.

Our cat sleeps better on our heads than in a box with holes in it.

No, were it sleeps and it's kitten attitude will not change.
In fact it will most likely wake you up at 2 am and want to play, also if you are just slightly allergic you will start to notice it.

Most likely. But watch out for those late night foot attacks, they can be quite shocking to wake up to...haha!
