I just recently started talking to this man who goes to my college and is great he is sweet and genuine good looking, smartall that good stuff. He just recently told me is is a foreign exchange student (I knew that) and that he lived in Dubai a large city in the middle east. He then told me his dad was the general and leader of an Army in another country.

should I be alarmed I mean I hate to say it but there is, for a while going to be a strong bias between muslim and americans. and even worse what good is it to date one that has a father so high up in rank?

Absolutely! I know a lot of people of different religions, Christians v Muslims, where either a husband is Muslim married to a Christian woman, or a Christian man married to a Muslim woman living happily with their children!! The corruption of incompatibility comes mainly from the society of the couple and no where else!

As far as YOUR case is concerned, I should examine closely the person in question is he really in love, and the society which he comes from, is it tolerable, before jumping into the Wagon. Hence, I would take it as a specific case and not a general example!

i don't think he would take u seriously because he lives in Dubai and is only here for a limited time. he also may look at u in a negative way because u r american and christian. if he does take u seriously he may want u to become muslim. i don't think the u.s has problems with Dubai.

It all depends on how fundamental a christian you are and how fundamental a muslim he is. If you are both liberal in your views, there is a good chance it can work. If you are both very conservative in your religious views, then definitely move on. You'll end up in a world of hurt.

Proceed on a slow and cautious course if you're thinking about following this up. Remember, when you marry, its not just to that person, its to their entire family.
