I'm an atheist but even I have a problem with people who come along saying things like they want to use it as toilet paper - that's just being offensive for the sake of it.
I do believe people should be allowed to burn the flag - I think that strengthens, not insults - the freedom it symbolises.

It is the ideas that are contained in a book that are holy not the book itself.
To revere or worship an object is idolatry something both the Bible and Koran prohibit.
I'm not sure where you get your 10% knowledge lost figure.
That may be true of ancient manuscripts and books because maybe there was only one copy of them but in modern day books have thousands or millions of copies not counting the electronic versions and the information is not really lost just made more inaccessable to a the particular group in the locality of the burning. Today's book burnings are more of a protest of the books contents as opposed to an serious attempt to eradicate the information.

I agree on the point about not burning ANY book. I don't care if I don't agree with whats inside. But, burning is how they get rid of Bibles... Churches that have Bibles that are of no more use, falling apart or have been vandalized in some way, get burned and then replaced. But to burn a book just because you don't like the book? Well, that's not any different than these Christians today wanting to burn Harry Potter books because they think it's leading children to practice witchcraft (which is ridiculous......)

you already know why you've such worry right here? because there is no center floor for you, no sanity on your assertions. No, not each understand the Bible is to be taken actually. neither is each be conscious contained in the Bible to be taken symbolically or allegorically. How did you already know the massive difference? The Bible tells you. as an celebration, the e book of Revelation opens with the Apostle John saying that he's touching on a imaginitive and prescient he change into given IN warning signs, and for this reason all of us understand to take the e book of Revelation symbolically. there'll in no way be a literal 7-headed beast bursting out of the sea, nor will there be a 2d beast that has horns like a lamb yet is clearly a monster respiration existence lower back into the lately killed first beast. there is now unlikely to be a unmarried whore that is going round sound asleep with each political chief in the global in replace for having real Christians killed merely so she will be able to drink their blood. those are all warning signs, and all of us understand because the Bible instructed us. instead of attempting to assert that the Bible is all literal or all symbolic or allegorical, why not try utilizing that mind God gave you so that you'll take a even as and ascertain out the massive difference, because this is not troublesome to finish that. you actually have not performed so because you do not favor to do the artwork, or you want to attack the Bible for saying issues it does not easily say because you do not favor to settle for duty for your moves. both way, the priority lies not with me or the different Christian, it lies with you. And because it does lie with you, you're the only responsible for to verify that you get the perfect information. we are more suitable than waiting that could assist you do so, yet you should first make the alternative to open your thoughts to undemanding good judgment, or the full attempt might want to be ineffective.

I've burnt 2 books in my life, and that was over 25 years ago when I was more a "fundalmentalist". I suppose i ought to appologies to Ron Hubbard and the Hare Krishnas for doing that.
Thank you for taking a stand to let people know destroying books is dumb. The worst book is only opinions which can be accepted or rejected.

Your choice.
I respect books.
Burning any book (to make a "point") just makes one look like a fool.
