Not piezoelectric. The proper term is magnetorheological shock absorbers. The shocks are filled with a special fluid...basically a suspension of tiny magnetic particles in oil. By exposing the shock to a magnetic field, the orientation of the magnetic particles can be modified, which changes the effective viscosity of the fluid.
