from within the body?

from the mind?

Lots of reasons.

memory of past pain and fear that it will happen again.

having invested your self-value in being right all the time (and being told that you are, or proven to be, wrong).

having invested your self-value in being obeyed without question (and being defied).

having your rights abrogated.

Essentially, rage comes from thwarted will. You want to do something, and something or someone prevents you from doing it. You want someone else to do something, and they don't. You want someone to NOT do something, and they do.

You see this in children, and we don't really get rid of that reaction as adults; we just learn to accept that there are limitations on what we can have of what we want, and since there is societal dispapproval of rage, we learn to turn the energy of it into something else.

I do want to note in passing, though, that the body stores emotional responses, and a lot can be done to release stored rage through various kinds of physical therapy.

All of these answers are possible.

i have had problems with road rage in the past. i break things when i get angry. but i KNOW without debate that pcp can cause rage, and the bible says that STrONG drink causes "raging".
but it very clearly also says that God himself can become FULL OF RAGE and anger that nothing but the anihilation of the earth seems to quench such Anger and fury.
i believe the devil teaches his worshipers how to manipulate Body Chemistry to Produce Involuntary behaviour on several levels. in additions if it is possible to make alchohol which causes rage why not other poisons as well?
Hence jesus said it was not a sin to be angry But he emphasized DONT SIN when you get angry.

It comes from within. There are many things that shape a persons demeanor, tolerance level and ability to cope. Don't blame God. Get a handle on control!

From my mind. Normally I'm really nice, but about once every two months or so I go nuts and start hitting walls and running into things on purpose. Man, I probably need help! lol.
And I agree with the dude right over me. Insecurity in the depths of your noggin.

There is a spirit of Anger, there is also normal human Anger.

Normal human Anger is the Anger that we feel when we are wronged, or see injustice. This Anger can be constructive, because it motivates us to action. That is why The WORD says to be Angry with out Sin.

The spirit of Anger comes from Satan. It is the destructive, uncontrolled Anger. It is the Anger that becomes obsessive, and bursts out inappropriately. For this spirit one needs deliverance.

It comes from very, very intense fear or very, very intense emotional hurt/pain.
That is all it boils down to. Think about it...the next time you get really really angry. Ask yourself what you are really really afraid of in the situation or what hurt you.

Just a thought.

From your life's experiences. It's extremely easy to generate intense anger if you've suffered abuse at the hands of others.
