I know some lillies are poisonous for cats to ingest. My cat keeps nibbling on the red roses my guy got me. I know it can't be healthy, but will it harm him?

I already said that lillies are poisonous to cats. And if you were a good vet, you would be working right now and not playing on yahoo answering questions!

No, roses are not poisonous to cats. I have one who likes to nibble also, so when my husband brings me roses or any flowers, I put them where my cat doesn't go. He used to be a climber when he was younger, but now that he's 6, he's settled down a bit. I don't know this for sure, but my theory is that the sweet smell of the flowers makes the cat think they taste good also, or could be that they really do taste good to the cat. Anyway, it won't hurt him, although if he eats a lot of it, it could give him the runs. Good luck!

You need to get her to a vet as soon as possible. If poisonous the foaming is probably due to her being nauseous. A lot of different plants can cause kidney or liver failure and may not become obvious for a few days - perhaps a week so blood work should be run. Please find a way to get her to an emergency clinic. At the very least call an emergency clinic and ask for advice. They may be able to advise of a place that can help or give you the number of an animal poison center that can advise. If you call an emergency poison center know that there may be a charge for the call. Good luck and I hope your kitty will be okay.

Roses are only going to be deadly if your cat swallows a thorn or if he eat enough of the plant we as human can actually eat rose petals but eating too much is a big no no for animals and humans. It like table food for a dog a little won't kill him but alot will make him sick.

Your cat is probably just jealous of your guy. But, cats have a tendancy to chew on plants (I know mine do). You can buy cat grass at the pet store, that might satisfy his nibbling urges.

DO NOT BRING IN LILLIES!!!!!!! Are you in sane!!!! Lillys have been known to kill cats. Roses are not going to harm him, but it will make him throw up so I wouldnt use those either. You best bet is to not use real flowers at all or you will be cleaning up puke..........with any flower.
