How can the theory of evolution be translated into a biblical context?

What if the theory of evolution is proven correct, would it mean that all religions believing in creation are wrong? If it is indeed correct ,how can it be seen or viewed as part of the bible?

I has been proven correct and it can't fit into the bible....Period! Any Christian who tells you it can is delusional and they are just trying to rationalize their beliefs. Period!, Isn't if funny how as people evolve and change social beliefs, Religious groups change stuff around to make it fit...Like at one time people used the bible to Justify slavery(See Actual History) then once we realized it was wrong....we say....well the bible didn't really mean that and having slaves is wrong....now that evolution is 100% Fact...people say...well maybe god let things evolve then he created us...THATS BULL!!

Evolution within a species is correct and proven. It has also been proven scientifically that humans have inhabited this earth way more than 6,000 years as some religionists believe (over 3 million years). Even the Bible acknowledges the existence of other humans before Adam and Eve.

My personal view is that, rather than being the first humans on earth, Adam and Eve were the first humans to realize that they had been created and, therefore, the first humans to recognize the existence of a Creator. This was a giant step in human evolution - the beginning of the Adamic Religious Cycle which has just recently ended (1863). The humans before Adam and Eve were more animalistic in nature, but after Adam and Eve, their spiritual nature slowly began to evolve.

The Bible says that it took 6 days to create the world. There is no reference to how long those days were. There are theological theories that combine evolution and creation by saying that the "days" referred to in the bible were really very very long periods of time in which a Supreme Power created something that evolved into something, then on a new "day" something else was created that evolved to something and so on and so on.

Also - there are no pictures in the origional papraus manuscripts (and remember historically the bible parables were all spoken as the majority of the people back then were illiterate and the teachings were passed verbally for hundreds of years before being written in Sanscrite and then humdreds of years later were translated into English by Thomas Moore) - so when the Bible says "in his image" does that mean in the form of a human, or does that mean as a thinking, rational, being with emotions and empathy, the ability to learn and the ability to choose between sin and rightousness?

If you look at the sedimentary layers of the earth, one can argue that over periods of time, different things were "created" and "evolved". There is no definitive proof of what started that creation and what started that evolution. There is also no definitive proof of how long each "evolutionary" period lasted.

There are theologians and scientists that disagree and there are theologians and scientists that can agree that it is possible to merge the two therories.

If you go back to the origionally writtings those in Sanscrite, Greek, Latin, Vulgate Latin and Aramanic there are lots and lots of translation differences and places where one word in sansrite can have multiple transtations into the next language ( there are lexicons available that show all 6 languages compared to the Englilsh translation) and the small difference between (as an example metamorphisis, change, and transition) one word and its english translation can affect how a whole passage reads. There was also no punctuation in the origional writtings.

Additionally the whole idea of identifying passages with verse and line notations did not become incorporate until 1513 by Thomas Moore. So lots of people have had their hands into making the English versions of the Bible into reading how they currently do. It may be impossible for us to ever go back and fully understand to intent of the writings. But true theologians who study the history and language of biblical writings are not necessarily totally to opposition to the idea that creation occured over a long period of time and many many scientists are not totally in opposition to the idea that at the beginning of evolution there was some supreme force that started, affected and influenced the course of evolution.

Absolutely nothing about evolution says that God couldn't pick a species and give two of its members an immortal human soul.

See mitochondrial DNA studies. These indicate that there came a time in primate evolution when a new DNA strand appeared, apparently outta the blue. It was found in both sexes but transmitted ONLY through the female. It would therefore appear that Eve came first and that Adam was her son. No problem there.

As for Original Sin being disproved, I beg to differ. Unless you were there and then how the devil would you know what they did or did not do to get themselves on God's S... list?

And Genesis is only taken literally by certain fundamentalist sects who find that easier than trying to think, study or learn anything about their world, but are content to sop up whatever their preachers tell them.

The theory of evolution can fit perfectly into a religious believing in creation. You can, if you want, believe that the universe was made by a creator who designed matter, energy, and the fundamental rules of physics. Then the creator left his creation to its own devices, and by the simple mechanics of evolution and with enough time, life emerged and developed into the enormous variety we see today.
This would be a coherent view of things. Of course it does not fully correlate to the genesis description in the bible, but if you accept that the bible was written by mere humans and that these writers could not have a full understanding of the age and history of earth, they did a good job of putting it into easy words as good as they understood it in their time. Even I as a full-fledged atheist can see and admit that.

It calls into question the seven day week. Our Sabbath and the tree of knowledge of good and evil. All of these things are foundational for the introduction of sin and the ongoing relationship man has with God. If God did not create the world then is he actually relevant?
