Some studies suggest that learning a new language, or learning how to play a musical instrument are excellent ways to ward off Alzheimers disease.

It can only be to your advantage, job wise, travel wise, etc. Of course learning is always good for the brain. Learning a second language can only be of use to you... once you have learned, you could turn around and teach someone else.

probable because of the fact there is a great number of Latino's and Hispanics right here. it is a attractive language and no rely if it is Spanish or the different language, speaking better than one is a bonus interior the paintings place. i'm at present gaining awareness of to talk Spanish and that i like it. besides once you learn it and you stroll via Mexicans that discern you do no longer understand what they're announcing. it is relaxing to observe their face once you talk back to them.

It is really AMAZING that you ask such a question. In my country, the more you knew, more respected you were. Here, people are satisfied with their ignorance.
It reminds me of the middle age, when the nobles didn't know to read or write, and in documents it said: "The lord does not sign because he is noble". Here people have a very similar idea, but we are not in the middle ages anymore and they are not noble.
Meaning: they got stuck seven centuries ago and they believe they have no reason to change because the whole world spins around them

Yeah, the more your brain takes in the better...
I have actually been considering taking up Spanish my self. A lot of our customers have divisions in Mx and I know it would give me a plus, especially where I just turned 40 myself, and no one else here speaks it... just a little advantage..

Speaking both (English and Spanish), you'll have the best chance to communicate with an unknown person in the western hemisphere, than with any other combination.
