my child's blood test revealed she suffers from allergy, in fact she has asthma and some patches of eczema in her legs. The doctor explained that the average blood level is 63 points but my daughter has 64 points, this indicates she has Allergy in her blood. The doctor said is not very high but still worries me, could anyone please tell me wether 64 points is too high? Many many thanks.

is your daughter old enough for a scratch test to find out what the allergy is???

if you let me know how old your child is and if you are breastfeeding, giving formula or milk i can help you more!!!

if your child is too young to get the scratch test the most common food allergy is dairy. some other common allergies are gluten, nuts, egg, fish, soy.

if she is old enough for the scratch test you can find out if it is food allergies or enviromental or both. if she is not old enough for the test try ommiting milk for a week. DO NOT INTRODUCE ANY NEW FOODS WHILE TESTING!!!

if it is food allergies then she should stop eating the food right away. you can talk to a child nutritionalist to find out what needs to be eaten to replace it. don't worry!

if it is enviromental you need to make some changes in the house. dust mites are a common allergy. you need to wash all linens in the hottest water possible including blankets comforters and pillows. anything that cant be washed, for example a duvet, make room in the freezer and put it in there for 8 hours. this will kill the dust mites. it is recomended to do this every 7-10 days. or you can buy special bedding that is uninhabitable to dust mites. carpets are usually a problem too. if you can afford it rip out the carpeting and replace it with wood, laminate, tile, or the such. keep it clean with a mop, do not sweep it will but all the dust in the air. if you cannot afford to replace the carpets then have them cleaned every change of season.

my son had allergies, bad ezema and a bad cough at night. he is allergic to dust mites, dairy, gluten, eggs, peanuts, and dogs. he is now a healthy todler!!! i was able to isolate all this myself (he was too young for a scratch test)and i had to make some changes myself because i am breastfeeding and the allergins where passing through my milk. it took 2 months of very hard work, but it is possible!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

No idea: I was never actually tested for allergies. But you can do your best to remove the allergen (what your daughter is allergic to) from her home environment. Since she has asthma, an air cleaner would be a good investment.

The doctor said that 63 is average, and your daughter has 64. That's only 1 point difference, so I wouldn't think that would be bad. Though it certainly would be uncomfortable.
