I've just received an e-mail from a person telling me a sad story about people dying in a crash. He wants to put money in my account and then keep some for him. Obviously this is a scam! Is there a website where I can send a copy of the e-mail to warn people of this scam or to expose this person?

another version of this scam (where they send you a cheque) is a problem because your bank will show a cheque as 'cleared' after 1 week, but the cheque from abroad may take 3 or 4 weeks to clear (or, rather, not clear) and when the cheque bounces the bank will remove the funds from your account. of course, by this time (assuming you are an honest person) you will have forwarded the funds back to the scammer................this version of the scam has been noted in transactions from all over the world, including legitimate (but stolen) business cheques from canada

Def a scam but I dont know where you can send a copy to warn people although you could send an e-mail to all your friends and warn them about it. Then tell them to pass it on.

Hi, oh I do like these. Forget it, do not do anything. It is a con but I have so far caught several of these. The best one was in an African place, I rang him on skype with his name, address, and all his details and suggested he went to his local police and hand himself in. He said, quietly "Oh sh1t, how did you find out?"
Have a nice day ignore the ars3holes and enjoy the internet. If yahoo put it in bulk just delete it if you have no idea where it comes from do the same delete it.
Bye

Don't waste your time, it is so hard for the authorities to catch these people, all you have is an email address, which could be setup anywhere in the world by anyone. Best ignore it and get on with your day.

No point, there are hundreds of them. People just need to have savvy if they receive. As for the answer who said report to the police, yeah right like they will do anything!

be careful about opening emails that you don't know who the senders are. i am not very computer literate, but i have heard that you could get viruses or open your computer to some unwanted guests.

sorry i don't have a suggestion on where to report a scam like that.

Do a web search for `419` scams, tells you all about them.

Most of these scams come from overseas, so knowing who they are does nothing. No one can touch them from here.

I get about 5 of these a week. Just hit the SPAM button and forget it.

Delete and ignore I'm afraid. There are a few "Baiter" sites out there, but I do think that's a bit cruel.
