Onewhosubmits, what a fellow you are. i am a heterosexual, and gays getting married doesn't bother me at all, in fact, why not? You see, I don't have a fanatic's need to control the activities of others.

Wow, we're getting all the religious angles now - keep it coming!

By the way, Evolution is not a theory in the sense that god's existence is a theory. Evolution is a fact, god is nonsense.

i think it's funny when people go on spending their whole lives waiting for heaven. what if this is heaven? what if, when we die and we meet our maker, we ask Him "so where is it then? show me the heaven i've been looking forward to my whole life" and God says "whaaat??!!! that was heaven! i gave you a beautiful world with so many possibilities to meet and enjoy different people and the opportunities to see a vast amount of things. there were so many fantastic songs for you to dance to, every night i provided you with sunsets and every morning sunrises. if you were lucky you could fall in love once, maybe if you were very very lucky twice. in this heaven that i let you live in for so many years, there was nothing that you could imagine that you couldn't do. anything was possible. and here you are, asking me where heaven is!!!!!
ungrateful little b*stard..." (although i'm not sure that God would swear)

If the person is a true believer then they are not scared about of the after life of death. They know the truth..and it doesnt scare them at all.

There is a heaven and there is a hell...you have to accept Christ to get to heaven..and accept the world of sin to go to hell.

The reality is that there IS life after death and thats a very comforting thought. Our souls (spirits ) move to another plane when we die. We lose our physical appearance but retain our consciousness and we continue a learning process

[002.277] Truly, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform As-Salât (the prayers), and give Zakât (obligatory charity), they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.

No fear, the sooner the better I think, I don't to live in a world where homosexuals CAN GET MARRIED! What is wrong with people!

Peace Be With You

surely its a win win situation

if there is total oblivion, then you wouldnt have any consciousness to be aware of it

if you believe in god, surely he is everything and includes both good and evil. in that case, why would you be damned despite what his middlemen on earth tell us?

if you believe in reincarnation, you wont remember anything unless you wish to appear on daytime chatshows. strangely, it seems that only wise native americans, kings and queens and marilyn monroes are the ones to live again

Why do you care? If death is truly the end of everything and nothing really matters, does it really matter to you that some people are 'deluded' about it? As long as they do no harm to you.

And seeing as no one can truly 100% 'know' in detail what happens after death, what's the big issue?

What is there to fear about nothing. Nothing after death, that's what I expect...that's what I want.
And Nikita21: it does hurt people....religion has done and still does a lot of damage and that is why we should care!

Did people really say that nelson? Put a bit more in the question explaining your self. I don't understand why people would be afraid of nothing.

well think of it this way.. whether or not you believe in a hearafter.. I wont preach to you to get a belief.. but what if there really is one and you only find this out once judgement day comes.. wouldnt you had rather done something about it early on?... just my opinion..

It should scare them. What if they chose the wrong religion... or even the wrong denomination inside a particular religion??

In the end, all they have to go on is blind faith, which translates to them believing the way they do for no better reason than that they really, really want to.
