What makes them pink and what is their actual reason for being pink?

because they are fleshy parts of your body, and the skin is thinner, effectively showing the flesh. This makes them more sensitive - so its easier to eat - and has also evolved so that they look more attractive.

they are pink because there is little flesh between them and the blood vessels that are in them, the pink colour is the colour of the haemoglobin in the blood vessels in the skin. Lips are actually the same material as the inside of the mouth, and are the same colour, they do not contain any pigment cells so would never tan in the sun, and as they are that type of skin, they will burn easily.

if u r lips are not pink if u want them pink the try these..
rose petal,rose water,milk cream paste apply it on ur lips while sleeping do this continously for few weeks u will find difference.
blackness comes due to loss of pigments and some times due to jeans also i mean heridatory.

i think it has something to do with how many blood vessels, the more you have the redder they look i.e. when you are hot or embarressed they look redder! mine are pink but i have really pale skin so would look silly with any other colour. Apparently the reason women started wearing red lipstick was so men thought they were sexually aroused as the blood vessels had rushed to their lips i hope this helps!

The skin on your lips is very thin and this makes it transparent. This is why they easily bleed and is also contributes to why they are so sensitive.

I think the skin is thinner on your lips so the blood is more visible and the reason is to make them more attractive I think. :)
