Well, I believe everyone has answered this completely, in bits and pieces... so I'll bring it all together. Your question could mean one of two things, and I will answer them both:
1) Will Firefox work with SP2 after it is installed?
Yes. SP2 has essentially the same compatibility as SP1, with added support for the .Net framework.
2) Can I use Firefox to install SP2 through Windows Update?
No. Windows Update requires Internet Explorer. However, I didn't use Windows Update to install SP2... I just downloaded the executable from Microsoft's website and installed it myself. I uninstalled Internet Explorer, so I had to do it this way. The link to the download is here (requires no validation):
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245-9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
Or, you could just find the page the same way I did: Go to Google and type "download SP2". It's the first page.

I believe that Microsoft's Download software only works with IE. (Or to date I have not been able to pull downloads using Firefox). So if you want to pull down SP2 from Microsoft, you will have to go there using IE, not Firefox.
However, if you Google XP SP2, you will probably find the download available at other sites where you can download it using Firefox. Once downloaded, you do not need either IE or Firefox to do the actual install.

No, Microsoft's installer sites only work with MSIE. You have to use IE to install the service pack.
But Firefox will work fine under SP2, once you install it and restart your PC.
