What happens if you're 16(underage) and you get stopped by a cop and he/she sees a visible tattoo on you and the state law is no tattoo aloud on minors...what will they do? because I have 3 Tattoos on leg and arms and they are pretty visible will I get in trouble for them ...NOTE: I did them myself.

Ive been doing tattoos for a good amount of time and have seen grip loads of minors come and go with loads of tattoos all up and down their bodies. The age requirment is more like a guide line toward making mature dicisions. And plus you cant get caught up for a misdiminor thats already done and dealt with, the cops just wont bother with petty things that may cost them there carrer, cuz hey you never know who was actually allowed to recieve tattoos at a young age... good luck and respect from one tattoo artist to another. if you got any other questions feel free to hit me up....

It would be okay. Most laws prohibit tattoo *parlors* from giving tats to minors. But if you did them yourself... they would have no right to arrest you or anything. Hope this helps.
As a note, you should be careful tattooing yourself. Tattoo parlors take a lot of caution to do them right, so you should be careful in the future (infections and such).

I was a police officer for 21 years, and I have to say I never gave this one a second thought. I really hope the cops in your area have better things to do. Their only concern would probably be if a licensed tattoo parlor, or unlicensed one was doing tats for underage. We normally aren't going to worry if you choose to do it yourself, although they may counsel you to think long and hard before you do many more (since they tend to be VERY expensive and difficult to remove).

Have you seen any cops lately? Most of them have tattoos, and a lot of them got them....when? In high school. Get over it, quit whining, and stop tattooing yourself.

In all honesty, probably nothing. Since you did them yourself, no crime has been commited. Home-made tattoos generally don't look as good and fade more quickly than professional. I would stop now & get them professionally redone in a couple of years.

I'm retired cop, motor, highway, patrol, narcotics 20 years. I really doubt that any cop could careless about your body art.
