If you're not stupid enough to be along with him then the answer is absolutely no! You can't trust guys who want to meet you online.. I can say this because I'm a guy!

You should have long conversations over the phone with him first. Get his phone number and call! Later, when you meet, make it in a public place, like a cafe or ice cream place, say that you only can stay 15 minutes and leave for an appointment even if you dont have one. Dont go back home from there, he might follow you. If it all goes well, call him and meet in public again for limited time, dont try to hurry because he is in town for few days, if he is really interested, he will come back. Good luck!

Never let him know where you live. You could agree to meet him in a very public place. Do not get in the car with him by yourself. When you go to meet him, write down everything you know about him, including a picture of him and give it to a friend, that way if something were to happen, the police will know who they're looking for. Also keep your cell phone glued to your hip. Be sure to check in with your friend every now and then when it is appropriate. Do this for the 1st few dates, until you are pretty sure he's not some kind of sicko.

I met a guy online a month or so ago we talked on the internet and the phone and he lives two hours away. He came up one saturday and ended up staying - worked out fine BUT before he came up I had a background check ran on him and found out as much as I could about him. the internet is a powerful tool. Don't be naive and trusting - question everything - I had friends calling me all day at different times to check on things - my mom "popped" over which she never does. Don't be stupid about it and it can work out and be fine. Not everyone on the internet is a preverted stalker.

I think in recent years its became a lot more common practice for people to find eachother on the internet. The only thing to remember is take someone with you when you first meet him, or meet in a public place, as there are some wierdos out there, but then again there always have been.

I would be very careful, he can easily be fooling you, so first I would say, if having a gut feeling that is like a warning alarm going off inside your head , then "NO" its not okay, it may not be safe. Second -- By asking this question to begin with, you must be feeling a certain degree of an uncertainty- the "alarm effect" if you will.

Come where you live? How far away is he? Are there no men where you live? Meet someone local. Long distance internet relationships are attractive only because they are a fantasy.

Please be careful if you decide to go anywhere with him. And i applaud you when you said you are not stupid to go with him alone.....carry a friend or two along with you...also if you are going out with him go to a place where you are comfortable being at...go with your own means of transportation or make sure someone is available to carry you to and from your destination, don't rely on him to drop you home...if you can check out his back ground find out where he lives, where he works etc before you go out with him.
All in all just please be extremly careful trust and trust your gut instincts.

be careful!

Well, its risky, but your a big girl and i'm sure you will make the right choices, but don't let yourself be along with him. stay in a public place, and let a friend know everything your going to be doing. and most of all just trust your gut....................... GOOD LUCK
