Mrs Badgrumble, thanks for the "round in circles" argument that I always get from believers. Really appreciate it. I'm afraid reading the bible, on instruction from believers still doesn't "do it" for me...

If you decide to abandon logic and common sense! And if you have poor taste in literature...yeap that should do the trick.

How about this explanation as to how the universe, our planet and humankind came into existence:

First, there was a "Big Bang" - light, energy, stars and planets.
Second, on planet earth came an atmosphere between the water which covered the planet and the sky above.
Third, land rose above the sea then came vegetation.
Fourth, the sun and the moon became visible, seasons arrived.
Fifth, fish swam in the seas and birds flew in the sky.
Sixth, animals swarmed over the earth, them man arrived.

Anything wrong with that order of events? Does that conform to your atheistic beliefs?

Well, all that stuff came from a book that was written thousands of years ago, before scientists came up with an explanation for gravity, never mind life, the universe and everything.

You ask if god reveals himself through the Bible. You bet your sweet life he does! That is the biblical explanation of how we got here. The six days of creation do not mean a literal 24 hour day. Each day could have lasted billions of years. The missing link is not the fossilised remains of some ape-man. The missing link is the originator of the Big Bang - God, who flung stars and planets into space, the energy that brought into existence all the matter that erupted from the Big Bang.

Only you have to open your mind in order to understand what is being communicated in the Bible.

I don't know, but what about every other book written before and after the Bible? And those books which have been edited from the Bible. And all the Dead Sea Scrolls.

Or don't they count?

God reveals Himself in a lot more ways that just the Bible. But that's for Him to do. He's big enough to handle you. (meaning to show you love and compassion, not "handle" you).

Anyway, bless ya.

God does not reveal himself thru the bible. Your info is incorrect. God did not write the bible.
You'll have to do the convincing at the end......
I will pray for you, that soon you will come in out of the negative and find the incredible joy of God's love.
God bless you

Of course it shouldn't. Why should someone who relies on evidence to form an educated decision be convinced by something whose only evidence that it is the word of "God" is that it says it is?

Your salvation is your responsibility. If you were really interested and knew your onions you would study biblical prophecy and see if it's true. Or of course you could look at endless web sites or books supporting your already decided view mwha ha ha ha ha this is such a great answer. If I get points I will eat my tube of denture glue.
