Is death the end result of life and nothing else. Or is it God's divine plan or the Devil's doing
My neighbor's 15year old died by accident last night - who had a hand in it - God, the Devil or simply the natural cycle of nature because all life ends in death?

I'm very sorry to hear about your neighbor. You've asked a very serious question - but it has a simple answer. If you believe in the afterlife then death is not a big deal - just the start of the next phase. But instinctively, we all know this isn't true - that's why death makes us sad. It's final. We also can easily see that God doesn't punish or reward people on earth - otherwise the best people we know would also be the most successful and powerful - and usually the exact opposite is the case. So your neighbor's unfortunate accident is not part of some master plan, it's just tragically bad luck. The best thing we can take from it is to appreciate every day we are given to live - and to do your best to comfort your neighbor's family at this difficult time.

Hi,

Extremely difficult question to answer, as no human being can know for sure.

I tend to lean toward predestined, and using an example, the famed profit, Nostradamus not only predicted the date of his own death, but was buried with a date in his coffin when his grave would be disturbed by grave robbers.

If it were a random event, it could not be predicted, only guessed at.

From what I know of the biblical teachings, the devil is limited to only being able to temp, not to do any actual active or passive harm to any human being, therefore, Satan could not be the cause.

I have a philosophy that all things happen for a reason, nothing by chance and I also know that I am not smart enough to know why things happen. Example: I am driving down the road and have a flat tire. I stop, get out, and say thank you, change the tire and be on my way.

I could have gone down the road another mile and been killed in an auto accident, but the flat tire could have been my protection from death because it was not my time.

I had a real life experience similar to the above. I was driving a 1970 corvette on interstate 75 and was running low on fuel. I came up to an exit and saw they sold my brand of gas. Something told me to not stop, keep going, so I did, and the next exit, I stopped and used a brand I normally did not use.

I was getting back onto 75 and while on the entrance ramp, all of a sudden the rear end of my vette started shaking violently, I was going slow enough to stop before getting on the interstate.

My right rear wheel bearing had gone out, and the jack shaft broke into, and the only thing holding the wheel on was the brake calipers.

Had I stopped at the first fuel stop, they would still be scraping me off I 75 as I would have been doing about 75 mph when the shaft broke. + + + + True Story + + + +

Good question,

Darryl S.

How very sad, I cannot even begin to feel the pain they must be going through.
To answer your question, Neither God nor the devil are responcible for that death. Our deaths are not pre-ordained or pre-determined, they are random. The Bible says at Ecclesaiates 9:11-12:
"I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all. 12 For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly."
Yes, it is "time and unforeseen occurrence" brings an end to life when a death is untimely and not the result of old age. Jesus gave a real example of this when he spoke of the tower in Si·lo′am fell, killing 18 people. (Luke 13:4)
Is there nothing after life? There is no pain, Jesus reffered to it as sleep when his friend Lazarus died. The book of Ecclesiastes tell us that the dead are conscious of "nothing at all". But remember, Jesus then ressurrected his friend, and God has promised that he too will ressurect your neighbors son as well as countless others who have died.
In your prayer for this family, pray that God remembers the young child and strenthens the family so that they are able to endure. Right now, they too I'm sure feel as if life has left their bodies. I too will pray on their behalf, again, I am so very sorry. I hope these words were able to bring some comfort.

Sorry to hear about your neighbor's child.........God had nothing to do with it and don't believe anyone if they say God needed that child in heaven.......I returned to see under the sun that the swift do not have the race, nor the mighty ones the battle, nor do the wise also have the food, nor do the understanding ones also have the riches, nor do even those having knowledge have the favor; because time and unforeseen occurrence befall them all.  For man also does not know his time. Just like fishes that are being taken in an evil net, and like birds that are being taken in a trap, so the sons of men themselves are being ensnared at a calamitous time, when it falls upon them suddenly.Ecclesiastes 9:11-12
Therefore, YOU men of heart, listen to me.
Far be it from the [true] God to act wickedly,
And the Almighty to act unjustly!Job 34:10

We may be at the wrong place at the wrong time.
But God does not forget the ones that died because He promises.John 5:28-29...Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice, and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment

i know a few real stories about people who had their death predicted , so they tried to avoid it only for it to happen at the same time but in a different way ...
i think when it is our time to go , it is our time to go
and i dont think the devil ( if you believe in him which i dont ) ... would have the power over life and death
so it is either natural ( for those who dont believe in God ) ... or part of the plan ( if you do believe )
and it is always more sad when it is a young person ... my friend is burying her 6 year old sister today
but we dont know the reasons why ... we can only trust that there is reason and that there is somewhere after death , where we will see each other again
i dont believe death is the end
i am so sorry to hear about your neighbour xxxx

Composition and decomposition of composed elements are preordained.
The immortality of the soul is preordained.
Reward and punishment under the law of causality is preordained.
The continuous progress of manking on earth is preordained.
In order to understand these and other divine principles, each individual must seek the answers in the Holy Books. If they don't believe in the Word of God, then no words of man can convince him.

Death was never supposed to be in Gods plan for the universe. My condolences to your friend and their family, and you. I think that at the base of this question is the question, "Why do bad things happen to good people?" If we look at 9/11, we ask the question, "How can God stand by and allow this to happen?" God did not kill your neighbor's son, but others will say that God did kill him because God allowed it to happen. How do you answer that? God is a God of love, and being so, he allows us to make our own choices, and He respects those choices by letting us suffer the joy or sadness that accompanies them. The victim of 9/11 were not victims of terrorism, they were victims of a small group of peoples choice to do such a heinous act. God allowed their choice to be carried through to its bitter end. Your neighbors son, is a victim of someones choice. Whether it be of the drunk driver that hit him, or of some gang member that shot him, or of himself that chose to be where he was at the time of his expiration. But the question still remains, where was God when this boys life was being snuffed out of existence? He was exactly in the same place He was when His own Son was being nailed to the cross at Golgotha 2000 years ago. and He was crying then, too.

God bless

I believe strongly in karma, what you do during this life or a past life comes back to you, in this life or your next life. this could be karma from a past life, i believe that the souls of bad people are punished by being born into retarded bodies or something like that as a punishment for living a bad lifeprevious. the more spiritually aware you become in this life will allow you to reach a higher level of understanding in the next. i know this is on a tangent but please read this book. Death is the end result of life for mortals with the occasional exception. It's mostly random. God or the Devil don't play into it, they don't care; they've got bigger fish to fry.

All life ends in death, Peanut. While our "newfangled" inventions - like cars - kill more people than would have naturally died older and more peacefully in pre-car times, we also have doctors and surgeons keeping more people alive who should naturally have died. It's all about the balance. I'm very sorry for your loss... *hug*
