think about what he likes, what he talks about, what kind of movies he watches, books he reads, interests, hobbies. sometimes i have found if you bring back an old interest from his childhood or early adolescence, it will also help...i nkow it sounds corny but guys really like a girl who knows how to make him feel like a kid again. put thought into it, by writing a little message in the front or back of it. you don't have to go all-out just to make an impression, sometimes the little things are just enough to satisfy.

Well you are doing what he wants you to. You are putting thought in and haven't just bought the first one you see which is the whole point. I would go to your local bookstore and see what they can recommend or have a look in the fiction section and see if there is anything which would cover both genres.
Whatever you decide I would write a dedication in the front of the book (on the first page inside the cover) to which him a happy birthday and date it. That way whenever he reads it he will know it came from you.

So go to a book shop and have a look for something you would read. I would suggest Marian Keyes "Rachel's Holiday" it's the sort of book that anyone can read and get involved with the characters. If you like romance it has some of that, if you like humour it has some of that, if you like drama it has some of that, I know you would really enjoy it.

The last two books Stephen King put out have been great. Lisey's Story is a sort of love story. Get him that one. You will enjoy it too.

Steven King has a new book out called Lisey's Story....its not a typical Steven King book, and I think you would both enjoy it. How about also buying him a Journal, telling him you would love to read his thoughts.

My suggestion would be James Patterson's books. He has a new one CROSS and last one BEACH ROAD and one before it MARY MARY and both of you could read them.
I have never heard of Stephen Kind not could I find any books by him. So I hope this helps.
