i know we cant carry it in small bags in the plane, but can we put it in our other bags that were not gonna be holding on the plane?

Hi according to the TSA web site if in doubt one can place liquids into checked bags.ie bags that are stored in the planes luggage hold.

All liquids or gels have to be in a 3 oz container and placed in a sandwich size ziplock bag. This includes chapstick, water, shampoo, ect. Make sure you use a sandwich bag and not a freezer bag, those are not allowed. And you are only allowed one bag per person.

You can put safe liquids in your checked luggage. Only 3 OZ of approved liquid in a clear zip lock bag in your carry on.

Carry-ons have the requirement for small (3 oz) sizes in plastic bags. You may take larger sizes of liquids in your check luggage as long as they're not flammable.
