i have a question about social graces. i have this sociopathic co-worker, you know always has something to say, never lets you get a word in otherwise, you're "friends" yet have little, if anything in common and you're just standing around while they're saying all of the right things, regardless of how things really are about. talked about the holidays, then i mentioned how there was this christmas party i go to every year, and how nice that was. well then she mentioned a party she went to, that someone else hosted, from what i could gather, and that they would probably have another one soon and me and my wife should come. at first i was enthusiastic, and thought it was a good idea, then, within minutes, i started questioning it like, "well me and my history with this person isn't the best anyway so why would i want to put anyone else in that situation". i don't want to be there, but not really there, or be "entertained", i've enough of that with others already, i don't know ..

This person has low self esteem and needs to be the center of attention, most other people will feel the same way about her (people that know her) just stand back, nod graciously and if you like her don't steal her thunder.

Everyone is different and we have to respect that.. How nice of her to ask you for one. And you might even find out of work that this person is actually very nice and you and your wife may even have a great time. But if you feel you cant go then dont.. it's a choice that is soley yours.
The last thing we should be to others is judgemental when we are not perfect.
Peace..

No offense, but I think there are much bigger problems in the world than this. If this is your big problem in life, then you must be leading a really good one.
