Though both are doctors wht is the diff bet both the words... im sure there's a diff but dont know what it is..can u plz help?

A doctor can be a doctor in anything (hold a doctorate degree).

A physician is a medical doctor.

In other words, there are a lot of doctors who are not physicians, but all physicians are doctors. The term, "doctor", is a broader category of people with doctrate degrees.

A Doctor is someone who holds a Ph.D or is a "medical doctor". All Ph. D.s should be called doctor within their field of expertise, but medical doctors should always be addressed as doctor if one is being formal.
A physician is a medical doctor who specializes in the medical fields as opposed to the surgical/research/psychiatric fields.
