"If I spend time with the one I like, I will never find the one I love?"
I heard it from a friend, but is it true, or just a saying?

No. You seem young and you have lots of time. Enjoy where you are. If you are screwing him and get prego, then maybe you will have problems.

You can love anyone you choose to...people fall in love with murderers, rapists, thieves every day. However, it's NOT every day that you will find a true friend, male or female.
The saying isn't anymore true than you allow it to be. If you enjoy the pleasure of a great friend, there's nothing to keep you from finding love somewhere else.
On the other hand, if you are dating the one you like, that would definitely keep the love of your life from wanting to hook up with you...

Just a saying. Spending time with the one you like can bring new people into your life you might not otherwise have met...and one of them could be the one you will love.

Technically that could be true unless the one you like is the one you love. But you can never tell if that person is the ONE until you felt the feeling of being in love. Good Luck! ^_^

Good saying! And I suppose you could say it is true, and not. You could spend time with the one you like, and discover that you love them!! Or you could spend time with the one you like, and the one you may love may never approach you!!

Do what makes you happy! Time spent with someone you care about is never wasted. If you discover that you feel ONLY friendship feelings for this person, be honest and tell him. Then you're heart and your conscience will be clear for the one you may love to come into your life. Sometimes old sayings are hogwash! :o)

I think it's just a saying - the one you love will show up, no matter what situation you are in. You might as well have some fun while waiting for the one you love !

in a way? lets say you're this girl who always hang out with this guy whom you like very much as a friend-- platonic relationship. fun to be around with him, yet this closeness might appear to others that you're attached to him. that's why you may never find the one you love- because the other guys are convinced that you're attached and they won't approach you. you can approach guys, but to them it would appear as if you're not being faithful to your 'boyfriend', and it'll leave them with bad impression. hope this helps :)

it depends on how much time you spend with the person you like..if you spend too much time with him,obviously you cant find the one you love...socialize with other people to be able to widen the possibilities of being able to find that one special person...
